Was not the reporter under the duty to hand over this tape to military authorities, under the rules of imbeds? If that's the case then strong measures should be taken against Sites. Also has Sites been removed from that Marine unit, because at this point i"m sure his presence is a distraction to the Marines and therefore endangers their lives. Sites has to be removed from that unit at the very least.
Does that please you?
These folks have been irreparably damaged in some way and will never listen to anything but the sound of their own voices. Take it from me, they are not worth the effort. See you on another thread. O.C.
Poohbah likes to sit as judge and jury , let him argue with himself.
Nope. Sites is not responsible for the Marine's action under any circumstances, one way or another.
Suppose that Sites had told the Marine "Yeah, these guys were left here by some other Marines yesterday," the Marine didn't cap the jihadist, and the jihadist managed to shoot another Marine and kill him.
Would blame Sites for passing information to the Marine that turned out to be incorrect?
Would you be demanding Sites' murder, like other FReepers have?
The Marine is responsible for his actions or inactions. Period.
And it was a good shoot. Period.
Hey, you like to make up false statements regarding the limitations on release of embedded correspondents' footage.
Sure Sure the imbeds can show whatever they want, whenever they want, they are gods and all wll be bowing in wonderful amazement and gratitude.

The link above is to a message put out by the Secretary of Defense. It provides the official guidance for embedded media and what they're allowed or not allowed to do.
Kindly show me where this message requires pixelation of faces, as you've been claiming. Hell, show me exactly which element of this message Sites allegedly violated.
Put up or shut up, newbie.
Listen , despite your best efforts you haven't convinced and you are not going to convince most people here that
a) What Sites did was correct or ethical and
b) That the USMC would jeopardize the safety of that Marine and his family by having his identity possibly revealed to a bunch of rabid jihadists.
CNN recognized the danger and did the pixillation.
Kevin Sites better hope for his own sake that nothing happens to anybody in that Marine's family, because of the actions of deranged jihadists,or troubled anti war fanatics.
Finally, I do not wish to be bothered by you or your posts.
The final recourse of liberalism; demand that the other guy shut up...
I understand and agree with what you are saying. Sometimes it is hard to just walk by. The media should have no right to free access in War. Journalists do not have the sense to understand the potential use of their reports by the enemy. This Kevin Sites twit knew his report would be used to damn our troops by the MSM and the Lib Loonies. But did he understand how it would be used to recruit more Jihadists. Freedom of the press should have some consequences especially where national security is involved.
Screw the MSM and screw Kevin Sites.
The Pentagon disagrees with you. Given the success of their endeavors to date, I have to side with them. Cutting off all access is a great strategy--if you intend to alienate the American public from the military.
Journalists do not have the sense to understand the potential use of their reports by the enemy.
When you allow your fears of the enemy to drive your decisionmaking on any topic, you're halfway to losing the war.
This Kevin Sites twit knew his report would be used to damn our troops by the MSM and the Lib Loonies. But did he understand how it would be used to recruit more Jihadists.
My estimate: the ones who would be recruited by this video would have been recruited by some other means. Terminal stupidity cannot be cured or prevented. But many would-be jihadis who see this are likely to back off, because it is such a ruthless and pitiless image.
Freedom of the press should have some consequences especially where national security is involved.
Uh-huh. January 21st, 2009: President Hillary Clinton announces that Free Republic is a threat to national security.
I should think that Mr. Sites should be very careful if he is still embedded. No saying that one of our boys would do it, but, a stray 7.62 x 51 round could give a reporter a hell of a headache.
I think Sites had at least a moral duty to protect the injured prisoners by warning the Marines entering the mosque that the injured men had been left there by a previous Marine patrol. Had Sites called out to the Marines, "Those guys are injured prisoners left by another patrol." there would have been no story.
Blame Sites.
Yeah, it tells you that I'm getting annoyed with dealing with the fears of those around me. Grow some scrotal tissue, or at least STFU and let those of us with a pair Charlie Mike without your yammering, OK? Sheesh.
You obviously have never spoken with a middle eastern muslim. Nor have you studied the history.
Wrong on both counts. I've also studied how people in Muslim countries react to threats of violence. The common response is to do what the guy with gun orders 'em to do (witness the effectiveness of state-sponsored violence in keeping their populations in line).
So you support the lying MSM as being protected completely no matter what they say? They don't have that right already.
No, I'm pointing out that in the absense of very specific cause, which does not exist in this case, restrictions on the press are unwarranted and readily abused.
The press is what it is. Better to simply accept it and move on, because we're winning (in all areas of endeavor) despite their yammering. I'll revisit this notion if we actually start losing.
You have really have given me a much better image of who you really are.
As have you. I don't sling the word "coward" around freely, but you're fixing to earn the title.
OK: Sites says that, the Marines are relaxed...
...and then one of the jihadis pops out a weapon and kills a Marine.
Would you be blaming Sites for that, instead?
I'm really hoping for a "stray bullet."
A fine Christian sentiment.
"Heavenly Father, I pray that that you send "stray bullets" to kill people who annoy me, in your mercy, Amen."
Slept through Sunday school class, did we?
You're losing it. I will not defend against your trash talk. You are really shedding light on your inner fears. Call me a coward all you like. You are obsessed with calling others names to prop up your tiny ego.
Now in the interest of clearing the air of your flatulence, I will not respond further to your windbreaking thoughts.
Don't know if you've ever noticed it before, but sometimes we make "radical" statements here on FR just to illustrate our "disgust."
I don't REALLY hope this guy is killed, but you have to admit that he IS a SCUMBAG.
