Can the Pentagon charge Kevin Sites?
Posted on 11/16/2004 1:07:33 PM PST by nothernlights
Was not the reporter under the duty to hand over this tape to military authorities, under the rules of imbeds? If that's the case then strong measures should be taken against Sites. Also has Sites been removed from that Marine unit, because at this point i"m sure his presence is a distraction to the Marines and therefore endangers their lives. Sites has to be removed from that unit at the very least.

I'm no expert, but it sounds like you two may need to renew your loyalty oath.I don't recall swearing an oath of omerta, or to cover up unpleasant realities.

You're way off base. No rational adult believes that war can be clean and neat. It is the fault of the leftist MSM that clamors for some kind of antiseptic combat precisely because they know such a thing is impossible. They're still seeking affirmation for their betrayal of the American military and their deceit of the American public during the Vietnam War.
Sites knew exactly what the effect of his little video would be. Sites and his handlers were slavering over this and now they have their pound of flesh. At the very least he should be stripped of his passport and sent home.

You are comparing the American military and its methodology to the Mafia?
You misunderstand. I am questioning your loyalty to the United States of America.

You want omerta.
If you are unwilling to stomach watching what you asked for, that's your problem.

If you have a bunch of pissed off Marines that think a buddy has been slighted they may decide to take out vigilante justice Any Marine who does that deserves to spend a lot of time in Leavenworth turning big rocks into small rocks.

You want the military to act like the Mafia.
This guy turned the footage over to the USMC, who cleared it for release. He released it. Your complaint is with the USMC, who didn't cover up and sanitize war to suit your desires.

So you're endorsing the idea that the Marines need to retaliate against this guy?
No, I endorse the idea of crushing my enemies, see them driven before me, and hear the lamentations of their women!
Is there a double standard at work here?

Sites is disloyal to men who befriended him and took him in their confidence. If you see nothing wrong in the behavior of that weasle, you definitely are lost. All Sites did was record what happened. As a journalist, that is his job. If he started self-censoring in order to make the Marines look good, he would not be fulfilling his duty to himself and his profession.

American citizens reporting the news from a war zone are not your enemy, like it or not.
This was a righteous shooting. I have no problem seeing it splashed worldwide.
But there's a huge mob here who wants it hidden away and covered up.

He's an effin traitor. He is aiding the enemy. He should be tried and killed. All he did was record what happened. Then, with the military's permission, he released the tape to his employers.
How is that treason?

Hey, I hope Mohammed, and Abu, and Achmed, and all their buddies see this tape, so they can see what happens to jihadis.
