She and the other 5 Democrats on the supposedly evenly-split commission (4-4) issued a report after the 2000 election making wild charges about blacks being prevented from voting in Florida, although they didn't come up with a single case of a qualified voter who wasn't allowed to vote. The 2 Republicans on the commission weren't even allowed to take part in preparing the report.
She and one of the other Democrats pretended to be "independents" so they could be given slots intended to be filled by Republicans.
