I made the mistake of listening to Savage again last night, and he AGAIN blasted Rush Limbaugh, calling his show really boring, calling him a fat loudmouth, "Mr. Gulfstream", saying no one wanted to hear Limbaugh talk about the election anymore...
He said a few more things, but the exact verbiage escapes me.
He also said numerous times that he will not discuss politics anymore, then quickly goes into it. He also took yet another series of swipes at President Bush and Arnold S.
He claims that Arnold has a big ego, is a disgrace, and has done NOTHING for California. He also says that his approval rating is disastrous, not nearly as high as the polls.
This guy, Michael Weiner, er Savage, is the disgrace. He's a bi-polar nut-job, who has the biggest ego this side of O'Reilly.
What a jackass.
Great minds think alike.
Aptly put. There was a time btw when Rush would routinely skewer RINOs along with, of course, the democrats. Rush even briefly supported Pat Buchannan for president in 1992.
I gave up listening to the RNC Windbag years ago when he dropped any pretense of being an independently minded conservative and rolled over for the powers that be in the Republican Party. Everything he views is through the prism of republicanism i.e. Repubs=always right and good, Demos=always wrong and bad.
While the latter is certainly true to a great extent, the former requires Rush to downplay/ignore the very liberal things this administration has involved itself in like the creation of monstrous new social entitlements, Bush's wanton open borders agenda, and enactment of One Sided Trade deals with mercantilist nations under the guise of free trade. To name a few.
There's so many Red Meat conservative issues that Rush won't go near with a 10 foot pole which Savage takes on with gusto. Rush's refusal to discuss the pressing issues of day because it may embarrass Bush and the GOP leadership is why his show is boring. And it doesn't help that he likes to brag about himself endlessly. This stick may have been funny 10 years ago. That he carries on with such self-effacing Pomposity is a sign of his deep insecurity.
That was right before he blamed the midget (Philip Morris commercials) for his father's (smoking and) throwing the meatloaf onto the wall on a nightly basis. What a looney
I wonder how he got that skin tone.
I can't listen to him rant and rave anymore. The man's a barking moonbat.
I just noticed that you really hate Savage and that there are at least two vanity posts relating to radio shows.
IN 1992, Rush endorsed Pat Buchanan in the New Hampshire primaries. Many people conclude (and I am wont to agree with them although I loved Buchanan in 1992) that Buchanan's move against Bush-41 greased the skids for Perot and gave us Bill Clinton. I think Rush was partly responsible for that. Rush was on Bush-41's side by the time the election rolled around and never endorsed Perot; however, it was his endorsement of Buchanan that partly made Perot a factor.
Post 102 sums up the reasons why... Thanks for noticing.
I prefer Medved, too. Unfortunately, I can't find him on any radio stations where I live (Modesto). All we have is Michael Savage, right after another annoying personality: Dr. Dean Adel. I do agree with Savage a lot of the time, but he repeats himself a lot, spends too much time talking highly of himself, and he is manic or something.
Who the heck are you calling "FReep sheep"? And who's "bowing at the altar of Sean Hannity"? SHEEEESH, the dude's got 15 million listeners and worked diligently in the GetOutTheVote in Ohio, Pennsylvania and elsewhere...what did YOU do to help Dubyuh win?
I love Ron Paul, but I'm not sure yer doing anything to promote his views by making him part of yer screen name...MUD
I always try to take all entertainers with a grain of salt.
Yeah, winning elections is GOOD.
"Hannity's a pleasant but unlistenable lightweight. Medved is increasingly tinny. Gallagher is inane. Bill Bennett is painfully awkward. O'Reilly is a dolt. Hugh Hewitt is solid, but is so enamored of his inside game he often overlooks the populist undercurrents."
Well, I may agree with you on some of these, but it doesn't do us a lotta good to slam folks who are making efforts to move the electorate to the Right. O'Reilly is an unprincipled populist, but the rest of those folks are at least trying to promote conservatism...is that such a bad thing?!
SHEEEESH...MUD
Thanks...too many folks on this thread are allowing the Perfect to be the enemy of the Good...MUD
I like Savage because he is different than Rush & Hannity and actually like the latter as well.
Remember, WE are the "big tent" (I hate that term) people now that welcome a broader mindset than the DemoRats...thats why we won.
Lets not blast those closer to us that Al Franken. DUs must love this thread.
Exactly. Add his Fox show, and he's got more exposure than anyone, including Rush.
I started this thread a few days ago precisely for that reason - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1270649/posts
The Savage show should be packaged in a plain brown wrapper and marked "For entertainment use only".
I've been listening to Rush for probably 15 yrs., not
every day, but nobody is a better political analyst. He
knows how to explain things real well.
I was criticizing their shows, not them as people.
