Muslim groups in this country routinely overstate their percentage of the population in an attempt to increase their political power. Muslims are still a very small minority in this country- the 1% figure is probably correct. Since 9/11 and the increased scrutiny by the INS, FBI and other government agencies, there have been a lot of deportations of Muslims.
We're not about to be overrun by Muslims in this country.

Percentages and numbers can be tweeked to fit the way a person wants them to seem. Like polls. I don't believe in them. I actually hate polls. hehe!
