'Ironic since J.D. Rockefeller was an Evangelical Baptist.'

For show, maybe.

'...Rockefeller the "Christian."

"Baptist" Rockefeller with bodyguard marching in the Easter parade in 1907.
Rockefeller had the perfect disguise. He was a devout Baptist "Christian" and attended church regularly. He even led a Sunday school class in the Fifth Ave. Baptist church in New York City. However, by the turn of the century he was also the most hated man in America. His "handlers" recommended an image change. It was then that he started giving millions to charity. Now in the Bible that Rockefeller read there is a verse that says:

"Therefore when thou doest thine arms (charity), do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what they right hand is doing" (Matt. 5:2-3)....' from reformation.org

Now this:

"....Now I have one more vital message to deliver. As I told you; one of the four specific assignments Rothschild gave Jacob Schiff was to create a movement to destroy religion in the United States, with Christianity to be the chief target. For a very obvious reason; the "Anti-defamation League" wouldn't dare to attempt to do it because such an attempt could create the most terrible blood-bath in the history of the world; not only for the "ADL" and the conspirators, but for the millions of innocent Jews. Schiff turned that job over to Rockefeller for another specific reason. The destruction of Christianity could be accomplished only by those who are entrusted to preserve it. By the pastors; the men of the cloth.

"As a starter; John D. Rockefeller picked up a young, so-called, Christian minister by the name of Dr. Harry F. Ward. Reverend Ward if you please. At that time he was teaching religion at the "Union Theological Seminary." Rockefeller found a very willing "Judas" in this Reverend and thereupon in 1907; he financed him to set up the "Methodist Foundation of Social Service" and Ward's job was to teach bright young men to become, so-called, ministers of Christ and to place them as pastors of churches. While teaching them to become ministers; the Reverend Ward also taught them how to subtly and craftily preach to their congregations that the entire story of Christ was a myth; to cast doubts on the divinity of Christ; to cast doubts about the virgin Mary; in short: to cast doubts on Christianity as a whole. It was not to be a direct-attack, but much of it to be done by crafty-insinuation that was to be applied, in particular, to the youth in the Sunday schools. Remember Lenin's statement: "give me just one generation of youth and I'll transform the whole world."...' http://www.usa-the-republic.com/illuminati/cfr_1.html

I'm reminded of the Turkish proverb:

it ürür, kervan yürür.

The dogs bark, but the caravan moves on. We can give the yips and yaps of petty critics the indifference they merit.

FWIW, Keillor is an apostate Christian. Despite his jokes about Lutherans and Norwegians, he was raised in a family of Scottish and English background that attended a Plymouth Brethren church, an early dispensationalist group.

Actually, his denomination is the Sanctified brethren, an offshoot of the Plymouth folks. Something about dispensationalism is toxic to creativity, and artists who escape its lethal embrace can become the most virulent anti-Christians. Like shock rocker Marilyn Manson...

I don't want to give this valuable shopping experience up.

Don't you hate it when they won't just shut up and sell?

I do now believe Liberalism is a mental disease.

I think you're right. I don't believe we should take away liberals' right to vote, but I think it have the same constraints put on it that liberals say they want to put on abortion:

Rare and Legal.

Democrat radio host Garrison Keillor says he is on a quest to take away the right of born-again Christians to vote, saying their citizenship is actually in heaven, not the United States.

Im sure he wont mind picking up my portion of the tax burden then - after all, if Im not a citizen, I aint payin

Yes, I really, really do hate that!!!! So far, I have had to make my husband switch allergy meds (France), limit musical choices, purchase certain brands of tires (France), No L'Oreal anything (France), and watch 10 year old movies! I had been on a Target Stores boycott for a while as well.

And last night, I received an article about P & G. They are going looney too! Bear in mind, I live just minutes south of Cincinnati, so P & G products are everywhere! I really don't want to wash my laundry without using Tide!!

Not sure if you have heard about them and their advertising agenda, but will be glad to post it if you haven't seen it.

I am just sooo releived to hear about Land's end, however. That was a real letdown. BTW, have you shopped their online overstocks? Great deals to be had there!

I don't think you can be born that ugly. I think you have to earn it.

He is much uglier on the inside. A hypocritical bigot.

I agree about France. I was a devout customer of Cuisinart for decades. I've since switched to KitchenAid (love the mixer, couldn't cook without it). I remember hearing something about P&G items . . . could you fill me in?

We also boycott Tysons. My son gave up Chicken McNuggets completely, although we did start eating at McDonald's again after the widow Kroc departed this mortal plain.

Some here on FR think mixing politics with purchases is going a bit overboard. As a former dem, I can vouch for the saying, "Everything is political." I was taught, early on, not to get attached to anything that smacked of non-union Protestant Republicanism. So now I'm teaching my son that it's senseless to support liberals, since they hate us and everything we stand for.

Radical? Just a tad. But what's the point of teaching your kids to be wishy-washy when it comes to values. Besides, it makes for great conversation at Parent-Teacher conferences.

Amen to that! I think the pocketbook says a lot more than our voices in this day and age. I don't care if it seems as though it is going overboard. To me, its a matter of principle, and my children learn valuable lessons through this small form of activism.

The following is from the American Family Association:

PROCTER & GAMBLE COMES OUT OF CLOSET, NOW PUSHING HOMOSEXUAL TV AGENDA

Procter & Gamble, maker of Crest, Tide and Pampers, is the leading sponsor of two TV programs that continually push the homosexual agenda.

The sitcom Will & Grace regularly promotes homosexuality and explicit sex-talk with jokes about male and female genitalia, masturbation, oral sex and even anal sex. The series' two male stars both protray homosexuals. From the beginning, the series has been about nothing but sex.

Will & Grace is the program that showed two men passionately kissing each other.

According to Broadcasting & Cable online magazine, P&G was the top sponsor of Will & Grace between September 2003 and February 2004. P&G spent an astonishing $8.2 in sponsorship of this program promoting the homosexual agenda.

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy depicts five homosexual men remaking the "cluttered, straight men of the world" so that they look, dress and act in the manner of the "cool" and, by implication, superior "gay" community. The program consistently seeks to validate and glorify the homosexual lifestyle.

Between September 2003 and February 2004, P&G spent $2,000,000 in sponsorship of this program promoting the homosexual agenda.

Remember that P&G pulled all their advertising support from Dr. Laura's program after a complaint from the homosexual community. P&G will support programs that are pro-homosexual, but refuse to support programs that tell the truth about homosexuality!

Procter & Gamble has become a leading advocate for the homosexual lifestyle. For more information on P&G's promotion of homosexuality, click here.

Please support the boycott of P&G, and ask others to do so.

To sign the Boycott P&G petition, click here.

American Family Association is asking individuals to:

1. Boycott three products of P&G — Crest toothpaste, Tide detergent, and Pampers diapers. (Some are boycotting all P&G products, which we encourage. To print out a list of P&G products, click here.)

2. Print out a Boycott Procter & Gamble petition and distribute among Sunday school and church members and with friends. Click here. (pdf version) (MS Word Version)

3. Please register your support for the boycott at pgboycott.com.

4. Call Chairman A.G. Lafley at 513-983-1100 and politely let him know that you are participating in the boycott and will ask others to do the same.

Hmm....citizens of heaven would not be required to pay taxes to the IRS thus reducing some of public radio funding...
This could mean a nice pay raise for born again Christians

I would like both Keillor and Moore to get in a boat and go far away. Of course, with Keillor's big head and Moore's big everything else, it would probably capsize. No great loss!

The only thing more frightening than looking at Garrison Keillor's ugly mug is the thought of him "crouched in a fetal position, rolling around and moaning in the dark."
My eyes! My eyes!

Thanks for the information. I've used Tide for years -- guess it's time to try All or Gain or whatever's out there. P&G makes a bunch of stuff, so I'll have to remember to look for the manufacturer.

I usually don't have trouble remembering what I boycott and why, and my son always asks, "Mom, do we like him?" when we go to Family Video to rent a movie. My husband didn't have much training in the all-politics-all-the-time lifestyle, so he doesn't take it as seriously as my son and I do. Occasionally he'll slip and buy something on the Banned list, and my son will be horrified -- "Mom! Doesn't he know!?!"

I just tell him Dad's too busy making money so we can shop for the good stuff, so it's up to us to keep up the boycott and make sure Dad's money only goes to people we like.

A storm sweeps through a riverside town, causing massive flooding. The flood destroys a bridge over a small creek, causing the single vehicle on it to plunge in to the rising water.

The water is shallow enough that the lone occupant of the car can get out and climb on to the car's roof. However, the water is rising steadily, and it appears the man will soon be swept away by the torrent.

"Oh God, please help me," the man prays, "I can't swim."

The rains slow, and the creek stops rising. The man, awed by the power of the Almighty, kneels and thanks God for saving his life.

The water is still rushing by, and the man knows he'll drown if he attempts to get off the roof of his car to reach the shore. So he sits, and he waits.

A neighbor in a bass boat comes gliding up the creek, and asks the man if he wants a lift to shore. "No, thank you, my friend. God will provide." Puzzled by the man's reply, the neighbor goes on in search of other storm victims to help. The man gets to his knees and prays, "Oh God! You have spared my life once today. Please let me make it safely to shore."

Soon, a teenager paddles by in his canoe. "Get in, sir. There's another storm coming through, and we're going to get more rain." The man replies, "No, thank you, son. God will provide." The man again gets on his knees and prays, "Oh God! I know you will help me get safely to the shore. Please do not let it rain. Please let the water go down."

Darkness sets in, storm clouds gather, and the first drops of another thunderstorm begin to fall. The man sees a police patrol boat coming upstream. The officer on the patrol boat, fighting the increasing current, tosses a rope to the man and says, "Hang on. I'll pull you to the boat." The man replies, "No thank you, officer. God has spared my life and watched over me all day. God will provide."

The rains came. The water rose. All through the night, the man clung to the roof of his car, praying for help. Finally, exhausted from his struggles, the man loses his grip on the car, struggles weakly, and drowns in the rising water.

Upon entering Heaven, the man asks God, "Why, Father, did you spare my life, only to finally take it after a struggle." God replied, "Son, I sent a bass boat, a canoe, and a police patrol boat. What were you waiting for? The Queen Mary?"

God sends us what we need. It's up to us to recognize it and use it for His Glory. If you truly consider yourself a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven and merely an ambassador to this world, I would think you especially would want to work to spread His Word.
