A US marine has sparked world-wide revulsion after being seen shooting an injured and helpless Iraqi.
The sickening scene was broadcast by Channel 4 News after a fire-fight in the rebel stronghold of Fallujah.
The trigger-happy soldier had been asked to get nearer to the injured man.
But instead of trying to capture him, the marine is seen leaning over a wall and cold-bloodedly shooting him.
He then turns to his colleagues and says: "He's gone". Coalition chiefs were last night under pressure to investigate the incident
Say what??? Our media is only slightly more trustworthy than foreign press. Trust our soldiers until their is irrefutable evidence against them.
US soldier being interviewed: "We thought everything was clear. We had guys up on the roof and we went over there to go get them; pull them back with the squad. Another guy popped out and tried to shoot me, threw a frag[mentation grenade] at me. I ran away from the frag, [something, something] dead body - one of theirs, not ours. Made it back here, trying to get the guy out and take care of business."
[announcer]"The insurgent's fire is neutralized and they [US forces] continue with their house to house activity" while the scene shows the soldier leaning into a window [yes it was a wall, but not a freestanding wall but rather the wall of a building], he fires a shot and says "he's gone".
I'm still not getting the war-crime aspect of this. To me, a war crime would be marching captives (wounded or not) out to a field to be shot. Finishing off a wounded enemy in the middle of a battle isn't comparable.
If this is the best the dickless Left can come up with to criticize our Fallujah victory, then we're in good shape.
According to the Geneva Convention, this guy was an insurectionist, and should be shot on sight. The city was evactuated of civilians, this guy was a un-uniformed combatant.
Besides, these explosives wearing pukes are not exactly unarmed when there is no gun in their hands.
Don't know about Iraq, but it is a common tactic over here with the Jihadi to feign injury and blow up the police that come to help. One girl took out a few border police and a medic in the exit from Gaza a few months ago.
I am sure our guys are trained about those incidents in Israel.

Fallujah has thousands upon thousands of good Iraqis in it right now—not only innocent civilians, but also brave members of Iraq's newly-formed army, fighting to free their country from the often foreign-born terrorists. This is not a war against Iraqis, this is a war for Iraqis. Stupid statements like yours play right into the hands of the anti-American media.
Precisely. There is no "war crime" here no matter how skewed one's interpretation of this video might be. The savage he shot at was probably already dead anyway, seems to me like he was firing an 'insurance' round.

I believe he says "he's done"....not "he's gone" after the shot over the wall.

They point out there is a down Iraqi between the buildings before the Marine shoots over the wall. That same ragger had been sniping at them before he got tagged off the roof.
