From what I have been reading since before the election and even a bit after - the RNC is pushing Bill Frist. While I like Bill Frist - he's just not presidential material and Hillary would mop the floor with him.

I would say so too. Hillary will run again for Senator in 2006 - win hands down because the Republican Party in NY is totally shot - and then with a second Senate term comfortably under her belt - run for president.

..praise the Lord, literally, that he the Majority Leader of the Senate.

Yes indeed.

While I can appreciate the frustration of FReepers who have criticized Frisk for not being strong and forceful enough in his role as Senate majority leader, I have always thought he did an amazing job for the hand he was dealt.

It's not totally unlike the critics of Rove back during the early stages of the campaign. With the exception of our own Ann C., I think most of them now have a different opinion.

The adults are definitely IN CHARGE now. AS I said earlier, I like what he said today...now for the action part.

If you mean Bill Frist - Definitely NOT! - Nice man though and a doctor but NO he would not make it thru the primaries.

Isn't there a chance Rudy or Pataki could knock her out in 06?

Tom, she might pull in a sure 45% of the vote...and we would have our base and a lot of help from dems and indys on our side,too..
WHY do we think Hillary could win nationally..She is a dem star..not a national winner candidate for the Presidency..IMHO..I hope they are compelled to nominate her.

I don't think Rudy is going to run for Senator. Just don't feel it. Rudy and Pataki both have stars in their eyes.

Saw that. Sheiffer's end of show commentary usually has me saying bad words to the TV screen. He's such an arrogant, transparent partisan, and doesn't even bother to try to mask it. He's got a bad case of Rather-itis, "I'm elite, and the dumb, ignorant masses will buy what I say." I hope one of the talk radio jocks take him apart on this tomorrow. As if Bobby Boy would be calling for getting rid of Electoral College if Kerry had won in a landlide. Liar.

It would be nice to have someone with a chance to go up

against her.

Agreed, the extra seats in the Senate have given him the room for maneuver, something I think that the lack of was unappreciated in the ending Senate.

Chris Matthews, Sam D, and Gloria B. all supporting Specter. They just can't understand why all those crazy right-wingers don't want a moderate reasonable guy like specter as chairman.

I agree. If Rudy does decide to go against Hillary I would be extremely happy! But ever since Rudy campaigned real hard for Bush I think the presidential bug hit him hard. And I think when he went to Iowa and the Iowans were screaming for him to run - he got bitten over there. Its just a gut feeling - and who know I could be wrong.

This is early for the entire process but today we are almost

in an endless election cycle where everyone runs all the

time and the money wheel keeps on turning. I can only

imagine what it would cost to run for Senator against

Hitlery in New York, mega bucks.
