U.S Armed Forces 1200 Insurgents 24.

Should we fight them with sharpened chop sticks to make it a fair fight?

Should be comforting to insurgents in other towns that they will soon meet a similar fate that will lead them to Allah in expedited fashion.

Our soldiers are the best and bravest in the world. Period.

Dump 'em at the Syrian and Iranian borders.

In Vietnam we often dumped enemy body parts in the streets of the nearest village. Our assumption was that many of the VC were locals. So, we just drove in, dumped all the heads and hands and legs and shoes right in the middle if the road at the busiest part of the Vil. Then we drove away. I guess it wasn't, "Winning Hearts and Minds", but it sure showed them what they were in for if they joined their brothers in the fight.

"rebel attacks elsewhere — especially in the northern city of Mosul — have forced the Americans to shift troops away from Fallujah."

Substantiate or retract. What unit? When was it supposedly engaged at Fallujah? Interview an officer who fought in both places.

As far as I have been able to determine, somebody in the press reported that 1st battalion, 5th infantry regiment - an army unit stationed in the north, 230 miles from Fallujah, and equipped with Strykers - was fighting in Fallujah. No one in the military confirmed this. It was probably a misunderstanding, based on the 1-5 designation, which also applies to the 1st battalion, 5th *marine* regiment, which *is* fighting in Fallujah.

If 1-5 of the 1st brigade, 25th infantry division, actually moved south 230 miles, fought in Fallujah, and then pulled out again, moved north 230 miles, and is again fighting in Mosul - then this should be possible to confirm with army authorities. But until I see that confirmation, I don't believe a word of it. The media is making this up, spinning one reporter's mistake across dozens of other stories. Again, substantiate the claim, or retract it, acknowledging the error.

Fox's Baghdad reporter just said that the fighting has stepped up in Mosul.

Unfortunately, I think this is the terrorist's SOP until and after the elections in January.

Right now, I would almost volunteer to be a poll watcher over there to help our troops. Do you think they would want a 50 year old grandmother?

Foxnews is running behind on their news on this...

Greg Palkott is reporting live on FNC and the activity is still going on in southern Falluja - in the industrial area - and reporting that there may be up to 1000 "insurgents" there.

Sounds like it ain't over.

alot of them went to Mosul, and the iraqi police in Mosul are apparently cowards or have been infiltrated. FNC showing an oil pipeline that was blown up in Kirkuk.

our biggest problem right now is the ineffectiveness of the iraqi police, that problem needs to improve, fast.

...Can a terrorist just stay quiet and stay indoors till our troops eventually leave?...

Nope. It's against the rules.

I don't think you are being too sensitive.

I believe our media is being their usual narrow-mined selves. They are against the war and as far as I'm concerned our troops because when the critisize like they do, it is not the President that makes the war plans.

I have been wishing Ollie NOrth would get on Fox and give a parallel perspective between WWII and the war --- in order to show how the media is distorting things.

Our marines and service men and women are the best of the best. And I don't care so much about body counts. We'll know we've won in Iraq when the elections take place and terrorism ends in Iraq. I believe the best way to do this is to take out the allies of Al-Zarqawi. Let's put the 4th Infantry on the Iran-Iraq border. And let us openly give freedom fighters in Iran the weapons and materials they need to topple the terrorist regime. If the terrorists don't like this, too bad. We've lost over 1000 troops since the end of major hostilities. The terrorists are coming from Syria and Iran. Let's take them out now. We waited 12 years to rid the world of Saddam. We must act now while we have momentum. If we don't casulties on our side are going to increase. And the longer the thugs in Iran stay in power, the more likely Al-Qaeda or Hamas hits us with a nuclear or biological attack. Sorry for the rant. Jim

In constrast to Daoud's comments, broadcast live on Iraqi television, US marine spokesman Lieutenant Lyle Gilbert said that the largest military offensive in Iraq since last year's invasion continued to rumble on.

"Military commanders and troops on the ground will make their determination (of when the battle is finished) and to this point that determination has not been made," he told AFP.

"We will continue to engage pockets of resistance in the city and eliminate them one-by-one until the job is done," Gilbert said.

Daoud also said that Al Qaeda frontman in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and a top aide, who allegedly used Fallujah as an operating base, had made good their escape.

"Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and (leading cleric) Abdullah Junabi have fled... leaving their supporters to taste death," Daoud said, referring to the ringleaders of a group that has claimed some of the deadliest attacks in Iraq.

:-D

Isn't that sort of what they did when we went into Iraq right at the beginning?

They let us "occupy" with minimal resistance and once we were set in, they started this guerilla shit.

Why can't they do the same thing in Fallujah?

I remember at the first of the war, the argument about letting the group of freedom fighters from Iran, keep their weapons. I also read an article recently that stated that getting their cooperation in Iran is getting a lot of consideration.

I have a feeling that consideration was given a while back, and they are currently being "helped" financially and otherwise by US. I hope so.

The rest of you "rant" was right on!!!!

Freudian typo? I bet the terrorists do need advil right about now!!!

When the Marine intelligence LT made her comments last week, I knew then that a hammer and anvil was coming up. Iron ring around the city, the river on the west, assault from NW and NE to the E/W highyway, then swing and push 'em into the river with half your force and use the rest to squeeze the SE quadrant.

Concentrate and Annihilate.
