John Kerry is a Catholic
He certainly claims to be, but orthodox he is not. Taking "communnion" from a priestess of the AME Church in public was a major sin, a mortal sin. His support for abortion, gay marriage, stem cell research and the like are all marks of an apostate. Pray for him, but do not confuse his conduct with that of an orthodox believer.

But narses referred specifically to orthodox Catholics.
Mr. Kerry is not an orthodox Catholic. He has been told by the archbishop of Boston, his own bishop, that people who hold his views regarding abortion should not approach to receive Holy Communion.
In fact, there is the view, though not yet officially endorsed, that not only is Mr. Kerry not an orthodox Catholic, but is, indeed, a public and formal heretic, and thus in a state of excommunication latae sententiae.
