He sure doesn't sound pro-life. He'll "abort" anyone who gets in the way of his daughters getting an abortion? Yeah, real pro-life. Just like Kerry, the altar boy is pro-life.

Do you really believe that those that would outlaw ALL abortions were what gave Bush his victory? If you do then you are so wrong it is mind boggling. I am anti-abortion as a form of birth control but I am NOT against abortion for rape, incest OR life/health of the mother . I am glad you voted for GW but you have no more claim on his victory than those that voted for him on 2nd amendment issues, tax issues, defense issues, gay marriage issues or any other raft of issues that caused an individual to pull the lever for a GOP candidates.

Right. People who think it's crazy to kill the pre-born.

In other words, in your mind, someone who believes in the life of the mother/rape exceptions - as Tex described in his post - is "pro-abortion".
There are a lot of people like that. Are they your enemy?
To: CWOJackson
Good night, Jackson. Another surreal thread on FR...

No one said that anyone's daughter would die from lack of an abortion. No one has ever suggested making it illegal to save life, only to take life. Self defense is part of the right to life, too.
Even under the "health problems" category of Guttmacher (the research arm of Planned Parenthood) these abortions are 3%. And the true number, would be even less, since many of these would not require a child to be killed, only that he or she be delivered.

I think he's referring to people like the ones whose heroes are those who shoot abortion doctors (and anyone else who happens to be nearby). We actually have a few of those here, as I learned on a jaw-dropping thread.
The remark that was made to Tex was uncalled for and inappropriate. If you want to grow the pro-life movement, it would be a good thing not to encourage that sort of treatment of those who agree with you on MOST things.
To: hocndoc
Again, my friend, while I truly appreciate your very pertinent post, this crowd isn't interested in facts...only in trashing pro-lifers, all the while proclaiming how pro-life they are.

Spector did the polarizing, if any was done.
He should not have made comments on the type of judges to be nominated or voted on other than to say that he would work to get the President's nominees to the Senate floor for a vote.
He showed poor judgement and lack of restraint. We do not need him as Chair of such a vital committee.

Then you have not read the thread. I posted to someone on this thread that did indeed reject ANY exception to abortion and then EV jumped in and accused me of killing kids. Now if you want to mediate then at least get the context right.

I never said we were the only reason he won. I said that without our votes, he would not have won. Yes, everyone added to his victory.
I just don't understand people who say they are pro-life, but then say, except for rape and incest. How is that baby any less a baby than a baby born of love? He or she is still a baby. It may be difficult for the mother, but it's only 9 months of her life compared to the 80 years the baby may enjoy.

EV, you make enemies of allies with crap like that.
Like I said, it's no wonder you lose everything you touch.
To: lara
I said that without our votes, he would not have won. Those that reject any exception to abortion are so small that you couldn't elect a dog catcher. Don't flatter yourselves.

If you don't want us as allies, why would you post in argument to the premise of this thread (that prolife voters would stay home if conservative judges are not appointed).
