Mirriam-Webster Online Dictionary

Main Entry: fas·cism

1 a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Unlike many extremist liberals, I do not throw the term around in ignorance, though now that I've refreshed my memory of its precise meaning, I will amend my statement and say that I understood you to advocate for supressing the platform from which those whose values with which you disagree speak while advocating that the public platform of the opposition remain intact. No, that is not fascism to the letter, but it is awfully close to fascism in spirit. As you know, our political system, flawed though it certainly is, was established to give everyone a voice. That is literally the American way, right? So advocating for a one-party system would be literally unAmerican, right? It surely sounded like that's what you were advocating, but if not, perhaps you could clarify. As it stands, to me, a political and social moderate, your position is troubling.

Our two party system may not work nearly as well as we would like, but it is *our* system and in the end it works more or less as it was designed to work. As they say, democracy is the worst form of government, except for all those other forms. (Smile)

There are lots of people like me who wish very much for a leader who is truly a compassionate moderate who walks his talk about being *everyone's* president. It troubles us that our country is so very deeply divided, and who has more responsibility for being a unifier than the president? More than liberal or conservative values, I believe in objectivity, honesty and truth, which are pretty damn hard to come by these days. Ulterior motives? Not at all.

As to your comments re dems who would have been shot for treason during WWII, surely free speech is a value we can all agree on. I am appalled by your willingness to supress it when it doesn't square with your own beliefs - it is an incredibly dangerous precident to establish. In that regard, see above, my dear. ;-)

I am not trying to stifle or take away anyone's right to voice or vote their opinion. My quest is the total destruction of the present, left-wing Democrat Party, because I believe that it is putting our freedom and survival as a nation of free enterprise in harms way. I am not against social security, medicare, education support, equal rights for all, freedom of the press, etc. I am against badmouthing your country and its military when at war, I am against a totally secular nation (I like saying Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to friends and family, and I don't want some Democrat political vermin telling me how to celebrate spiritual holidays that are important to me!). I am against abortion, I am against a contolled press and media (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC do not report news, they slant it heavily in favor of Democrat, liberal positions. They will say or do anything legal or illegal to bring GW Bush or, for that matter, any Republican down). They would not know objectivity if hit them in the face (Who's the Facist now?) And...I'm for total victory against our enemies.

IMHO, and, I could go on for days, the banner of Facism is worn by the current Democrat Party. I refuse to discuss this with you further because it is you that have the closed mind. I actually feel sorry for you and your fellow travelers. Thankfully, for the moment, your ilk has little voice. I suspect that you believe you can rebuild or restructure your message. I do not think you will be too successful, because we will not be standing still while you try to retrench and move forward. We have found that Latinos, Asians, Women and Jews are ripe for conversion to our side, and I suspect the same is now true with Blacks, who are waking up after this election realizing they have no political power whatsoever after being held captive in economic chattel slavery by the Democrat Party that has taken them for granted for the past fifty years. In fact, The Congressional Black Caucus is now, in reality, a Black social and meeting club. It cannot effectively use its collective political power. It has none!!! Did you know that 26% of Gays and Lesbians voted for GW Bush. You know why? They get it. They are smart enough, as women are, and sizable numbers of American Jews to realize that if the Muslim terrorists ever get the foothold to operate in these United States, they will be among the first to disappear from this Gods earth. I mean really, Muslim terrorists just hate Gays, Lesbians, Women, Blacks (Check out Sudan) and certainly Jews, all Jews! If Michael Moore and his ilk like Jimmy Carter had their way these terrorists would be having a ball raping, abusing, murdering, beheading the above groups!!! You poor folks in the "traitor" Democrat Party don't know the enemy, sad to say!!! I mean, come on, dear, do you really think you could opine the way you do if Osama bin Laden and his boys were over here!!! You would not last five minutes. Get this through your head, John Kerry and the Democrat Party lost this election because the majority of American of "all" political stripes clearly recognized that he and his party would not effectively defend America or its citizens against an enemy that has sworn and vowed to kill us all!!!

So, instead of wasting your time with folks like Randi Rhodes of Air America ranting about GW Bush stealing the election, I respectfully suggest, that before you project your views any further, you take a good hard look at your real options, which are rather limited because of your "bubble" existance, and move to produce a political party that is "real" within the world we find ourselves today. Doing that, I fear, will require drastic changes in the currrent Democrat Party, changes that will convince Americans that the Democrat party will defend America and its people while working for its domestic progressive ideas and programs that will work in unison with a strong free enterprise system. Less than that will cause the Democrat party to remain a minority party for many years to come!! It's in your hands. Have fun!!! End of story!!! End of dialogue!!!
