Not all in those pics are innocents. I especially like these two photos of Marines taking prisoners -- and not exactly doing it tenderly [grin].

Yeah, this picture reminds me when I
was 14 years old and my father caught me doing
something wrong and he took control of my
existence on plant earth.

Needless to say
I became a very good boy,
most of the time.

The bare feet mean they are foreign fighters. The story goes, that the local terrorists don't trust the foreign terrorists (i.e. they think they will leave once they get fed and armed by the locals), so they make them trade in their shoes for weapons.

Makes them all the easier to pick-out as well.
