Scott's parents paid for the defense knowing he was a pathological liar, knowing he may well have murdered his wife and their grandchild. The jury verdict won't make them believe he is a murderer. They refuse to believe it they are in denial. The only pain they are suffering from is the delusion that thier poor boy was wrongly convicted. They are enablers.

Didn't it come out during the trial that Scott had had at least several affairs during their marriage? As parents, wouldn't you know there was SOMEHTING not right with him?

you contradict yourself here.

The only pain they are suffering from is the delusion that thier poor boy was wrongly convicted. They are enablers.

perhaps they are doing what parents do, in spite of what their son was just convicted of.

I think they knew and were trying to deny it in their minds. I just think that they have lost someone they cared about, but because they chose to help defend their son, they are unjustly vilified. They loved Laci and Connor, and they loved their son. A parent's love is unconditional and it is hard to come to grips with the evil that their son has done. They have lost a lot as well.
