This story is more than just 'happened during a slow news cycle,' imo. The fact that a husband murdered his wife at a time in her life when she needed and deserved the most protection, and killed his own unborn son in cold blood, fascinates decent people. It's mesmerizing to watch such a person, so devoid of humanity, from a safe distance. He was the one man on this Earth who should have protected her at all costs, and, in fact, had vowed to do so.
Bingo! That is why this case has so many of us watching.
Bill Handel on KFI-AM 640 (Los Angeles) is completely surprised by the verdict. Expected a hung jury. Can't wait to hear WHY the jurors voted the way they did. That second jury (with the woman they call "Pinky") is interesting. Everyone thought she'd vote pro-defense. Guess not. How could it have taken such a short time for the (new) jury to come to a verdict with the new people on it. Interesting story.

Our Troops in Fallujah is by no means a slow news cycle.
