Source: Peterson jury foreman wanted to be taken off panel

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (Court TV) — The foreman dismissed from the jury deliberating murder charges against Scott Peterson Wednesday asked to be removed from the panel, a source close to the case told Court TV anchor Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom.

"This juror wanted off the case," Guilfoyle Newsom reported Thursday.

The panelist, identified as Gregory Jackson, 46, quit the jury after his fellow jurors said they wanted another panelist to lead them, the source told Guilfoyle Newsom.

"He was removed as the foreperson and then decided he wanted off the case," Guilfoyle Newsom said.

Story continues ......

The courthouse was closed Thursday because of the Veteran's Day holiday and jurors remained in sequestration at their hotel. The panel is not permitted to discuss the case except in the jury room........

if found NG SP would be entitled to Laci's life insurance unless the insurance company had their own investigation which proved otherwise.

I remember I was hot when the Pros covered Snott's finances and glazed over things while this life insurance is such a factor. How many murders are committed for insurance ? when someone is insured (as Laci), they have a price on their head .

Hey, CO!

Sounds like they took your complaints about Justin and #6 seriously and investigated.

Didn't seem to find anything, though. :-(

Snip off the courttv blog: "9:03 a.m. PT

Court administration announces that San Mateo District Attorney's Office investigator Bill Cody — who raised eyebrows Wednesday after meeting privately with the judge and attorneys in the case — investigated an anonymous tip of juror malfeasance but determined it was baseless. Officials won't elaborate on the accusation.—Harriet Ryan"

SP was about to lose his Tradecorp gravy train, too. According to Tradecorp emails to SP, he was doing one tenth of the projected break even gross earnings. They were pressuring him for results. He responded that even lower earnings were expected at the end of 2002.

RG, don't you think that Tradecorp also just laid low, as to the financial situation (a la embezzling) that might have transpired? It appeared to me that the meeting with the European execs was simply a cover, to show a human solidarity at a time like this, but the underlying reason was not just a pink slip, but a a flaming red petticoat.

When I heard that "meth cookers" use fertilizer I couldn't help but think Scott would like a piece of that action. Add to that his mysterious supply of Franklins (100s) could account for his only sales. There was a thread on Drudge a few months ago that stated the FBI was looking into all that. Then there is Dad's container business, see where I am going ?

Time to be looking down the road for Scott...

Let's hope the repercussions keep exploding over his head, and his family's heads:

Embezzlement
Meth Supplier
Aiding and Abetting
Civil Responsibilty for 2 deaths
Witness Tampering
Jury Tampering
Perjury
Subborning (sp?) Perjury
Attempted larceny (selling Laci's belongings)

The hits just keep coming. ;-)

Yes, I see exactly where you are going, and have also thought there was more than just Mom (and I really think it was more Mom than Dad) supplying the extra support.

It would be interesting if by some awful chance, he is found not guilty, only to turn around to see FBI standing with warrants and cuffs.

That would be great to have the FBI waiting in the wings ~ with the apple not falling far from the tree, this could be a family affair and SP is pulling them all down. Possibly someone fashioned the Sopranos after knowing this family. Jackie must have a lot of $$$ for anyone to tolerate her.

SP would be entitled to Laci's life insurance unless the insurance company had their own investigation which proved otherwise.

And wouldn't that be ironic. If this scenario happened to play out, could SP be dragged into criminal court again? What would legal consequences be?

If SP beats this rap he can't be tried again for Laci's murder but anything else he could have done or been involved with he could be held liable. If the insurance company has investigated the matter, they could refuse to pay him and he would have to go to COURT to sue them and all these facts would resurface. Maybe by then Jackie could get a face lift and a chrome O2 container and be in style.
