ABC News: Some Say U.S. No Longer Feels Like Home (gag alert)

Posted on 11/11/2004 6:28:46 AM PST by AuburnJenn

Nov. 10, 2004 -- Leora Dowling and her husband thought returning from deep in "red" America to her native New England would make them feel more comfortable, more like the people around them shared their values. Since the election, she's been contemplating another move. To Italy.

"After the election, my husband and I asked ourselves, 'How could our country be heading backward? How could so many people miss or choose to ignore the obvious failures of the Bush administration?'" the former Florida resident said.

Dowling, a college professor who lives with her husband in Vermont, is not alone in feeling that the wounds cannot be healed, or at least that Bush is not the man to do it.

For Dowling, as for others who ABCNews.com spoke with, though the immediate anger may be focused on the president — whether because of the war in Iraq, his stance on same-sex weddings, what they say is his blurring of the line between church and state, or his championing of the Patriot Act — there is a broader concern. They say they feel the United States is changing in ways they do not like, and they feel powerless to stop it.

Get over it, people. The world is not coming to an end. I have never seen such a pitiful group of cry babies in my life. If Kerry won, we would not be signing up to leave the country, I'd just suck it up and be an adult and move on with life.

Can you imagine the benefits if all the looney lefties took off and left the country?

More jobs would open up, housing would be cheaper, fewer cars on our roads which would mean lower gas prices......

Good lord the list of pluses on this are endless.

Good, then GTFOOH - maybe try Saudi Arabia, or perhaps Iran. You'd probably look better in a burkha anyway, you ungrateful bitch. I truly despise these academic pinheads and pencilnecks.

One of the more pathetic things I've seen so far are those lefties who think their vote didn't count because they lost.

Man, we thought they were sore losers in the 2000 election. They are ridiculously pathetic this time.

1. "Victims" (a Dem party personality profile MUST) always feel powerless about EVERYthing.

2. LEAVE.

She can take comfort in knowing that Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein feel exactly the same way she does.

Its this type of attitude that lost them the past elections and Congress starting over a decade ago.

Actually, it is these ignorant anf intolerant Torquemada's of the left who would take this country backwards. Much of their own liberal state voted for Bush.

Did you ever notice that all these malcontents work for some branch of the government or have a teaching job. None has made a payroll. I wonder what percentage ever served in the military? They will fit right into Canada.

And tomorrow I am sure they will run a story entitled "How America feels more like home than ever to millions of Americans".
