Is the soldier looking out in a manner reminiscent of Gengis Khan... like his favorite ex candidate said?
To: Vision
The guy's an act-or. Like the rest of the Left. Only Rather's fighting for his job AND a legacy other than Rathergate..
To: TomGuy
I've seen those eyes before...

Oh Danny boy - We don't need YOU to explain this picture to FReepers and other REAL patriots. We know already. Tell it to the world that you were hoping would take down our President not so long ago.
To: TomGuy
Rather is in full repentance mode, trying to suck up to normal America.
What a coward and a scumbag.

Thanks so much for posting that, and for who it is attributed to. I had searched the web, but didn't find the author's name. We're hosting a Veterans Day Softball Tournament, and I'm putting together the registration packets. I wanted to include this poem to celebrate the Veterans, so now I can. Bless you!
To: Bush_Democrat
Thank you! I love that poem and God Bless you for remembering our Veterans.

The tears by dan were tears reminding him of his failure. He flunked out of Marine boot camp.

You really need to read up on his military history before you give him glowing reviews for it.

A good photo of an American fighting man.
The eyes and the set of the jaw are rather compelling.
The overall effect is a relaxed and confident "Bring it on".
To: Tripoli
The tears by dan were tears reminding him of his failure. He flunked out of Marine boot camp.I understand that never stopped him from claiming he was a "former Marine".
To: TomGuy
The picture alone is a thousand times better than the bilge Rather was spewing. Rather does his best to ruin it by damning it with faint praise.
His remarks are intended to limit the photo's impact, to do liberal damage control on a photo he can't stop.
Rather was trying to spin it into a subtle attack on Bush and the war. Hopefully, we can retire this old Castro-loving fruitball by spring. He's beyond overripe.

>"I don't see any reason why this can't be his sincere feelings about the troops."
Just because he viciously promoted documents he knew were forged, probably at the behest of Kerry '04, it doesn't mean he goes around kicking puppies and pulling the wings off of butterflies."<
-Don't get sucked in by See B.S. This is an effort by Blather to regain lost repect after the bogus document story.
However, some years back, Dan Blather did a story about Vietnam vets that was an outright lie. It was about how they were comitting war atrocities.
Blather knew it was a lie, yet ran it anyway, just like he ran the phony Bush documents.

Before ANYONE gets sucked in by Dan Blather's phony tribute, I suggest ya check this article out:Hijacked Honor ("The Wall Within" 1988 CBS/Dan Rather fraudulent documentary on vets)
From that article:
"The highly hyped 1988 CBS program, "The Wall Within," purporting to tackle the issue of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), is a perfect example of the lies and distortions about Vietnam that have been fed to three generations of Americans.
The program profiled six pathetic victims who it claimed were "representative" of those who served in Vietnam. It claimed that the symptoms suffered by these men were shared by hundreds of thousands of other veterans. The Dan Rather "documentary" became part of the CBS video history series on Vietnam and is graced with a formal introduction by liberal-left one-worlder Walter Cronkite."
