Post was kind of emblamatic of the great people we have serving in Iraq and he spoke a little of the great job they're doing in Fallujah. And I couldn't agree more. I get choked up thinking about it sometimes...but these guys are all volunteers! We all know that of course, but just think what that really means! Thank God we can still produce such remarkable people. I hate to think of any of them not making it home...the older I get the younger they seem. I find myself praying for their safety 100 times a day.

Smoking is better then booze or prescription drugs. At least our soldiers are keeping a clear head when they smoke!

Started smoking in 1969.
Pall Malls, came with the C-Rats.
Anybody remember those little 4 packs. They made great trading material.

I saw that when I was leaving the Market Basket in Rochester, I said damn, that could have been me 36 years ago, but I saw the Kotex on a tobacco stick, in those days real men smoked humps or Luckies.
God Bless them and their mission but some things never change. Nothing like a nicotine fix after your nads sought to crawl in to your body cavity.

The gov in my state just decided we need to fund a health plan on the backs of smokers. Here we go again!
To: Graycliff
Remember the 4 paks well. You had to be careful though some had been in storage so long the smokes were as dry as tinder and burned really fast. Pretty much on the harsh side as well.
Interestingly when the MRE first came out they contained fourpacks too but that lasted only a very limited time before the antismoking nazis found out.

Im surprised they are letting the PX's in Iraq sell cigs....when my hubby was there they would sell out of cigs as soon as they got them....although it was on the banned list...I sent my hubby several cartons a month...plus coffee....

At least they weren't as dry as those damn crackers. You had to be a tough SOB to finish those.

The other item was what we called the Johhny Wayne BAr. The round bulletproof chocolate that came in the cans. Never met anyone that could actually chew one of those. We used to break them up using the butt of a bayonet and chop them finer with the blade. Added to a canteen cup of coffee it made a passable drink.
