Ya'll may as well get ready, Bush need show no restriant in pushing for the FTAA treaty this coming Jan. 2005. Calling the White House will get you no where.
The only hope to defeat this agenda is to remind your congressmen and senators that you put them in office and you can take them out.
Yeah right - you'll have to wait until tomorrow. Yeeesh!!
Last year they accepted 10's of thousands of applications for 44,000 new CBP Officers as a election year sham to fool the voters into believing they were going to get serious.
The sham worked. Bush was reelected.
Those 10's of thousands of applicants are now receiving 'Dear John,' letters from the CBP.
Barnett is a crooked shill. He calls the trade deficit in return for bond debt that finances the military "a very good deal." For whom, pray tell? Certainly not the taxpayer who pays for a pax Americana that allows investors to send their jobs abroad. Certainly not the workers in mining, forestry, ranching, and farming who see regulations appear out of nowhere so that there isn't any domestic competition for those imported goods.
It's not much fun, but we've got to deal with the millions of Mexican illegals who work productively in the USA.
They are a net drain.
Correct.
Is this amnesty limited to work? If so, no Federal benefits should apply. We do need more facts before
going off half-cocked.
Here comes another flood of illegals across the border. The Border Patrol guys I know told me that the last time this topic came up, they saw a tripling of traffic. Everyone they apprehended told them they wanted the amnesty that Bush promised.
You better believe it. John McCain was on Imus this morning and brought up the Amnesty for Invaders several times under the euphemism "immigration reform". He got all misty eyed about Illegals dying in the desert and how they do the work Americans don't want to do.
It's coming down fast. Our Bought Politicos want to get this Treason enacted now in hopes the voters forget about it in the next two years. What better time to drop the Amnesty Bomb than during the holidays when most people are too busy and distracted to notice.
Call your representatives in Congress ASAP and tell em what you think about this Sell Out. Telephone Calls are much more effective than e-mails.
Public services are near the breaking point.
The quality of life has gone to hell in a hand basket.
There is nothing that justifies this--nothing!
I encourage all conservatives to find solid candidates to take on GOP RINOs in the primaries, and unseat them (any RINOS who support the president on this issue). EAGLES UP!
50 posts in this thread so far but not too many facts.
With our conservative majority in the House and Senate...this shouldn't be a problem. /sarcasm
It is a good way for the president to thumb his nose at the unions...
Excellent. This was one of the agenda items I hoped Bush would follow through in his second term. It's clear he has a mandate to reform the immigration system. I'm glad he's not backing down in the face of the racial hystericals.
Not that I know of, but I do know that Tom Tancredo has employed illegals to work on his home. Talk about hypocrites.
You've got that right. You know this President isn't going to back down in the face of threats and sniping. He does the RIGHT thing, not the popular thing.
That said, while I voted for Bush based on supreme court nominations, I realize those of you who voted constitution party warned about this. If you folks want to tell me "I told you so" go ahead, you were right. I have to admit I am real disgusted that, with all that's going on in this country, that the FIRST priority right after the election appears to be to award the lawbreakers with amnesty.
It is my understanding that "sheets" gets a new wardrobe every term. He wants to look 'sharp' when he does your bidding.
I don't know about the rest of the country, but here in Texas the farming, construction and catering industries would collapse without the Mexicans. Who do you think picks and packs all the vegetables you eat? Who do think cleans the big American box stores? Who do you think works on the large agribusiness farms? Anglo Americans are unwilling to work for lower wages, substandard working conditions and no benefits. I agree that illegal migrants lower the bar for everyone, but the employers love 'em. Remember that our neighbor to the south is a third world country. Where would you rather be? If it bothers you that much call corporate headquarters of the biggies and ask where the products come from. Wait a minute, if you are upset about illegals, why pick on the migrants themselves? They just want to eat. For those of you so in love with the 'free market', these people should be a blessing. Lower wages, no benefits, no worker complaints or back on the bus. Isn't this a textbook example of the power of 'the market place'? Isn't that the mantra of the Republicans? maximize profit and screw the social and economic consequences? If you want to call the tune, you got to pay the fiddler.
