Reporting that AG Ashcroft and Commerce Sec Don Evans have resigned.
That's the talk here in the Lone Star State. He's a fine man.
I interviewed Mark Pryor when he was AG of Alabama. IMHO he's a quality guy that knows the law. He'd be a very good replacement.
For AG I like former California AG, Dan Lundgren. He has always impressed me. I think he just won a seat in the House which Arnold can backfill.
Can an outsider be appointed Chief Justice....does it have to be a sitting Justice who gets that post?
Oooooohhhhh. Me likey!
Bourque (sort of the Drudge of Canaduh) is reporting this without a link.
I'm not too surprised about either resignation. Commerce I don't have any idea...but Guillani for AG?
Goodness! I missed that one. Care to elucidate :)
(Usually I'd google it, but considering the search terms I'd have to use I'd rather not)
"I would like to see Ashcroft give a message in tongues before he walks out the door."
As a member of an Assembly of God church, I do not appreciate the attempt at humor in the least. Democrats put down religious conservatives in much the same manner, I thought conservatives had more manners.
You are correct and Brit Hume was just talking about that...said, Ashcroft was prepared to stay, if asked...
Too pro choice? Rudy is 110% pro choice.
Ashcroft said publicly that he was a committed Christian. That was enough to infuriate secular humanist/RATs. Makes you wonder a little if Satan isn't behind some of the RAT crapola.
Don Evans wanted to be Treasury Sec., but Bush said no, so he resigned. Per MSNBC (for what its worth)
This is so not TRUE!!! Don Evans is a good friend of President Bush and Mrs. Bush. Why does anyone listen to MSM. Don Evans wanted to mve back to Texas! I can't blame any of them. I know W will get back here as soon as his 4 years are up. Washington is MEAN hateful and full of crime!
I am life long Lone Star Stater and I hadn't heard that.
However, I sure hope it's true! He is a fine man.
I think Larry Thompson from Georgia will be appointed AG.
I have respected Ashcroft ever since he refrained from disputing his defeat in the senate election to Carnahan, who had been killed. There were also many chances to challenge voter irregularities. But unlike Gore, Aschroft did not want to create instability in an effort to further his own interests. This country needs more people of character such as Ashcroft.
"we need to spread the rumor that Ashcroft is going to be the next SCOTUS nominee, just to mess with libs"
ROTFLOL. Don't be mean they are already in therapy
Hats off to a great patriot who was demonized by lesser men.
