Downloaded and installed in under five minutes on my laptop.

Great browser, even snags all your links, cookies and passwords if you have them. I started FireFox and I'm already logged into FR. You know I'm outdated when I'm posting this on Netscape 4.8.

I've been running the nightly builds of the program for months.

Dumb question: Does this mean the end of nightly builds? I've been using the OS X program "FireFix" to get the latest nightlies, which automates the whole process, so I haven't been following the news on mozilla.org too closely.

I guess my question is, does work begin immediately on nightly builds of 1.1 or 2.0 or whatever they want to call it, or is 1.0 the end of the line for the time being?

The nightly releases should continue on all fronts.

The next point release of Firefox ought to use the greatly enhanced (streamlined) Mozilla code base. The current one uses the old base with many patches.

If in doubt, go to the Mozilla.org page, select the Developers tab, and head back to the root of the FTP tree to drill back into the Firefox releases.
