Kerry Won, per Tompaine.com (in case you were deluded by recent "results"!!)

Kerry Won. . . Greg Palast November 04, 2004

Bush won Ohio by 136,483 votes. In the United States, about 3 percent of votes cast are voided—known as “spoilage” in election jargon—because the ballots cast are inconclusive. Drawing on what happened in Florida and studies of elections past, Palast argues that if Ohio’s discarded ballots were counted, Kerry would have won the state. Today, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports there are a total of 247,672 votes not counted in Ohio, if you add the 92,672 discarded votes plus the 155,000 provisional ballots. So far there's no indication that Palast's hypothesis will be tested because only the provisional ballots are being counted.

Greg Palast, contributing editor to Harper's magazine, investigated the manipulation of the vote for BBC Television's Newsnight. The documentary, "Bush Family Fortunes," based on his New York Times bestseller, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, has been released this month on DVD .

A revelation.... Any discarded ballet can be called as a vote for the party who counts it!

Yeah,, that's it! I didn't know that. Yes, you did! Oh, OK.

Good grief. Palast is assuming that all of the provisional ballots would be from qualified, registered voters (which is unlikely) and that nearly all of them would be for Kerry (again, unlikely). Discarded ballots are discarded because they've been spoiled in some way, and therefore not valid votes. Why is this so hard to understand? Do they think we're stupid? Yes, I guess they do, judging from a great deal of the commentary made in recent days. Also, when a ballot is spoiled, the voter who hands a spoiled ballot fo a poll workers is given a new ballot, and the spoiled ballot is discarded. It shouldn't be voted. I get so tired of hearing this crap that "all the votes should be counted". Apparently, this means even votes from people not legally entitled to vote, and votes on ballots that have been discarded. Insanity.

It's over. Period.

Kerry is dead. This is tinfoil hat stuff. The dems have a better chance of getting electors to defect than the absurd notion that recounts will help kerry.

That is simply the fact of the matter. Posting this kind of stuff does one thing: WASTE SERVER SPACE.

That's pretty much it.

Yes, I see it now. This man is right. If you add the votes of people who would have voted for frenchie, but didn't bother to register or show up, he would have won in a landslide. Great! Now they can go right back to saying the same stupid crap they said for the last fours. It will keep them occupioed while real Americans fight side by side with the president to save our country. so I guess their self delusion is a good thing.

Actually, if Bush would have lost Ohio, and won ANY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING (Oregon, New Hampshire, Wisconsin)..

He would still have won the election.

So, sure... let's go through with voter recount speculation and see who comes out on top.

What a joke.

"....most are from urban areas these are voters that don't bring id."

First of all, ballot spoilage occurs everywhere, not just in urban areas. The machines counting the ballots account for a good percentage of the 'spoilage'. For spoiled ballots due to human error, I would suggest to you that an elderly person in a suburban area could have just as much of a chance of screwing up a ballot as an inner-city voter. We heard all about this in Palm Beach in 2000. But most importantly, the Democrats threw huge amounts of money into the inner cities this time, paying for phony registrations and paying people to vote. Paying someone to vote is effectively purchasing their vote for your cause, which is fraud. And this takes place on a significant scale. The Dems weren't even denying it this time.

You are making the assumption that these Provisonal balots are legit. I contend that votes for peter pan are not legit.

The provisional balots in "urban areas" will be frauds. The kerry campaign knows this which is why they conceeded the race. They know that provisionals were not cast only in dem counties but repub counties as well.

Occams razor says I am right, and that posting lunany from tom pain is indeed a waste of server space. It's over. Done. Finished. Fini. Kerry lost.

America and the rest of the world know it. TOAST.

Wasn't Kerry's margin in PA less than W's in Ohio?

Here are the numbers by county for the 2004 election.

In order for those ballots to have given Kerry a win, they would all have to be legal AND Kerry would have had to beat Bush by over 55% among them. Besides, if you can't even fill out a ballot correctly why should your judgement on who should be the leader of the free world be sound.

Besides, if we're going to go into this, why not start on the ballots in closer states like Wisconsin? Bush would only need to win one more state to win without Ohio, so in order to declare Kerry the winner you not only have to say that the counting of those ballots would have won him Ohio, you also have to say that the counting of ballots in other states would have won him as many states as it lost him, even though he won far more close states than Bush did.

This is based on the results of exit polls. Some people hear about vandalism and assaults at GOP Headquarters, and then some stranger asks them "Who did you vote for?" An exit poll is not an actual vote. Nobody has been placed under oath prior to being asked that question. This year, the exit polls were cherry-picked to suppress Republican turn-out, just as it was in 2000. When we reach the point where Liberal Democrats, formerly known as Communists, are defining "truth" for the rest of us, then we will no longer be worthy of the blessings of God, the Existence of Whom is the foundation upon which our rights and national existence is based. Don't let these people frame the argument on their terms, because there's always a lie in there, somewhere.

Also, on election day last Tuesday, I heard two separate phone calls on Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh from Republicans in Ohio who showed up to vote and weren't listed as registered. They were long-time, same address residents who had voted in the last 3 or 4 Presidential elections, and they weren't on the lists to vote. They were given provisional ballots. I would imagine that some of this was deliberate, and the Dems know this, and know that a certain percentage of those 'provisional' ballots are from disenfranchised Republican voters. Fact is, if the Dems thought they were screwed in Ohio, they never would have conceded, and they would be clammering and protesting and rioting in Ohio even as we speak. They lost, and they know it.
