my husband has a masters degree in Anglo-Saxon literature.

He knows Latin, Spanish, Old NOrse, Old English, Hebrew, Greek, French, and Irish.

He got a 1600 on his SAT

I am getting a PhD in philosophy from the top program in the country (Rutgers)

I got a 2320 on my GRE and a 1530 on my SAT

We live in New Jersey

We believe in evolution

We believe in feminism

BUT we also believe in God, America, the free market, the right to life, and the sanctity of marriage so I guess we're just a couple of mouth-breathing redneck idiots. We voted for Bush after all, so we must be dumb, right?

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some snakes to go handle!

In high school my best friends dad became sexually "confused". Because of this I met a lot of queer men. My friends dad started a business down in the Houston Montrose area (for his boyfriend who stole him blind) and as teenagers that place was an experience. I was 16 years old and one thing I learned was that just about all the queers would do whatever they can to seduce young men. Which, in my case, was a bad idea and it cost one a few teeth.

Overall, I found them to be the most self-loathing and saddest group of humans I ever met. On the outside many seemed like they were "gay" but get to know them a bit and they were not happy people at all. Very self-destructive too.

I pray that you find happiness in your life.

Why did I vote for George Bush? To me the election was a classic question of right vs wrong. The answer to the question was easy. For many reasons we are all aware of. The baffling thing is the number of people that did not get the answer to the question correct. On that test they failed. Badly. Maybe next the losers will study harder....

How old are you?

Eighteen and seven months. Were you ever gay?

Or just abused? (When I say just abused, I don't mean it to sound flippant AT ALL!!!..But I think you know what I mean)

Yes I was. I wanted men and I had no sexual attraction to women at all. Did you ever play an active part in the gay lifestyle?

Well, you'll have to define "gay lifestyle." Offline I'm a very shy and introverted young man, so no, I've never gone out clubbing or been willingly sodomized by strangers or anything like that. While I considered myself gay, I was as true to my partner as a hormone-drenched confused boy can be (Despite the massive temptations offered by the other gay people who I knew). I somehow kept myself from having sexual relations with my partner; I insisted on waiting until the "commitment ceremony." I didn't hate anyone who disagreed with my points of view, like some gay people do, though one of my straight friends did stop talking to me for several months (We've since made up).

Ack, I'm rambling again. Suffice to say that I was not gay in the way that MTV portrays it. Several of the homosexuals I knew were in the same boat as me, and several of the others were "flamers" in every sense of the word. I've since stopped talking to those ones; they let loose a tirade of "hateful bigot homophobe Pharisee blah blah blah!" every time they see me anyways.

Please tell me you aren't ridiculing somebody who has turned his life around. Isn't that what conservatism stands for?

"I don't share your tolerance for homosexuals."

I don't necessarily disagree with you. But I have had no choice but to live with them and, guess what, they aren't all that bad. Especially the lesbians that live around here. They are really good people. Good people.

I'm also a little confused. I thought we Republicans were filthy rich and heartless. Now I'm told we're all dumb hicks praying for the second coming of Cotton Mather. Which is it?

Confusing, huh? A few weeks ago I was a rich, selfish hawk, now I'm a stupid redneck rube. What a turn of events! I have to admit that I got into NASCAR for a few years. Maybe that's it?

Same here on the education. Both my wife & I graduated magna cum laude with BS degrees, and I graduated summa cum laude with an MS. Both of us are Christians and devout anti-Democrats/socialists. Nonetheless, the arrogant, condescending left wingers have now decided we're just stupid cult members that don't know what's good for us (ostensibly Kerry).

I'm one of the Rednecks that live in UpOnDaHill, OH.

I like watching deer run through my yard.

I like not having to lock my door.

My son did get his Red Ryder BB gun (and hasn't shot out his eye yet).

I didn't get a degree but have been working in positions that require one for 25 years.

I don't think I like the idea of privatizing SS.

I do respect the sanctity of marriage.

I've come to the belief that Woodstock was a socialist/communist event and not a pacifist one.

I got pissed when I saw the left side of the house, to a man, refuse to support the President at the State of The Union Address when he tried to profess defense of marriage.

I voted for Mr. Bush because of his ability to lead us down the RIGHT path at the split in the road no matter how painful that choice is.

Oh, yes. And there was that Senator they pushed against him. Did anybody think that any living person that served in the military not remember the name Jane Fonda?

I am a fisherman, not a fisher.
and a college graduate..my husband went to U of WA for two years but liked commercial fishing better.
We own and run an 80 ft. seiner and fish the North & South Pacific.
We know you are only as good as your last load. (of fish, silly)
The New York Times crossword makes me cross-eyed. My IQ is Mensa grade, but the non-academic kind. ( that's why I shovel squid & sardines around )
I like GW because he is results oriented and he likes to whack brush.
I like GW because he takes it to the enemy. He gets respect.
I like GW because he is loyal and a real American, unlike the high falutin Jean Francois.
My husband and I voted for GW. He is true blue and it was the right thing to do.

Okay! You are nearly 19 years of age?

Ok lad.
For some reason I visualised you as being much older.

BTW...if you've been sexually abused by a person, I suggest you go to your local police department and record it NOW!

I'm a journalist, and I've just come out of a four day sex assault trial, which involved an underage girl being abused by a man 10 years older than her, when she was 10. The crux of the case was early reportage.
Report it NOW!
You may not wish to pursue it, but report it NOW!

I would hope I'm not ridiculing anyone.

Luircin...are my questions to you ridiculing?

I'm certainly questioning?
But then again, I'm a journalist and I'm fairly frank in posing questions a lot of the time.

My apologies if I hurt your feelings Luricin.

I give you great credit - for it has become almost a sin to want to get out of the lifestyle - and there is no more professional help to get out, even when you want to...

You are obviously very strong. That and your faith will get you through - HE will always be by your side. (see my tagline)

I can do the New York Times crossword puzzle in fifteen minutes.

I'm impressed, that's kewl. I'm only able to do the LA Slimes Sunday crossword in about a week, but I still voted for Bush six times(just kidding).
