Democrats Map Out a Different Strategy
Los Angeles Times ^ | 6 Nov,2004 | Peter Wallsten

WASHINGTON — Reeling from their party's loss in the presidential election, some key Democratic financiers and strategists say they have learned a clear lesson: Next time around, no Northeasterners need apply.

The blue-state party needs a face from a red state if it is going to expand beyond its base on the two coasts and preserve its hold on the Upper Midwest, where its long-standing appeal to voters has become tenuous, these insiders say. Their voices — if they become ascendant as the Democratic Party undertakes a round of soul-searching after Tuesday's losses by presidential nominee John F. Kerry and key Senate candidates — could dampen prospects for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), who has been frequently mentioned as a prominent White House contender in 2008.

Hillary's political stock as fallen. Now, if we could only get her defeated we could get the hell rid of her.

She will be the nominee, even if she has to jet back to Arkansas.

Yes, H Clodham Clinton is a Changeling, if I ever saw one. Like Excalibur's Morgana, she bides her time while creating a voting history to run on, which Kerry did not have.

I would like to suggest Red Gray Davis to this LA Slimer as the Rat Western Face in 2008.

Red Gray Davis has a pale and ugly hate filled Western face.

He is available now and throughout the 2008 election.

The LA Slimes believes in Red Gray Davis, and they should push his candidacy.

"Let's get a message and redefine our party in a way that people will want to vote for us, and then our candidate will probably do fine," From said. "A candidate who eliminates the culture gap, eliminates the security gap [on national defense issues], is willing to compete all over this country and has an effective agenda for reform will do fine, no matter where he or she is from."

Typical DemonRat thinking. They think their only problem is that they didn't market their campaign right. The problem is that the their "principles" and core causes are full of crap. Market crap any way you want, it's still crap. It bugs me that 48% of the country is still buying into their garbage. The election should have been a Reagan-style landslide. The press was able to snow a lot of people still. Things are changing, though.

Dream on Democrats. The Clintons are your pain in the butt that you will never get rid of. They may want to distance themselves from Bill and Hillary, but they can't because the Clintonistas control the party from top to bottom. It's Hillary's nomination to lose in 2008, and the Dems have no one to blame but themselves for not stopping the Clintons when they had the chance to.

It never fails to amaze me how clueless Liberals are. They think its all a question of marketing and geography.

Do you think that your values and ideas, or rather lack thereof, might have something to do with why you keep loosing?

There is no way they can re-stratigize in such a short time.

Always looking for a quick fix is their problem.

from the article: "I just don't understand why we have been unable to talk" to lower- and middle-income Americans, who should be responding to the Democrats' economic message, said Wagar, 35, a graduate of a conservative Christian college who in late 2002 hosted the first fundraiser for Kerry's presidential campaign.

This guy wants to change the party but can't understand why his party cannot connect with its base.

I hate to admit it, but the LA Times came up with a decent article. High-rolling Dens are saying "forget it!" to Hillary in 2008 and anyone else from "Cambridege, Manhatten, or LA."

If they do go with a moderate like Bayh, that'll be very tough.

DemoncRATS are so closely aligned with the communist party and its front org--moveon.org--that both are becoming synonymous.

I say let her run. No matter who she runs against she's assured of loosing. She's too polarizing of a person, even more so then Kerry, to ever get elected to the White House. In addition, with her running for President the GOP would be assured of gaining even more senate and congressional seats. It's called reverse pyschology.

There they go again - ignoring the lessons of the last election(s) that are profoundly displayed.

They would rather attempt to divine their futures by poking about in their own feces......

Yeah, after soul searching, the RATS want to desert the ship, re: Americans flock to Canada's immigration web site, to the tune of 20K per day, per Drudge today. If they really go, maybe we will be the UNITED states once
again.
