I'm sure he would be thankful for you saying that. I'm sure WE all learned something from your calling him stupid and blame gaming him.

God help you if you ever make a mistake, particularly one the ends the life of your child, and effectively yours with it.

I have lots of leaves, and I had little children who used to love to play in them. You turn your back for one single second and tragedy can occur. A child can run into the street or anything else.

You comment was and is despicable. When you are in a hole, stop digging.

ease off a bit willya? we're all freepers here.

And she is right he WAS stupid. and it cost his kid her life. the operator fo the vehicle is responsible. if the kid wasn't in the pile of leaves, the truck probably would have started a fire.

parking in a pile of leaves is downright foolish on many fronts. he shoudl have had more sense.

Missyme is right - he WAS stupid.

pray for the child.

This is a real heart-breaker, but I don't think that anyone was trying to say that the dad did it on purpose. If he drove a truck into a pile of leaves large enough to hide two children it was a stupid (and tragic) mistake. When I was learning to drive many years ago, someone local ran over a cardboard box in the road. Unfortunately a child was in it! The lesson is that you, the driver, have to think - kids (and too many adults!) do dumb things. If you have no reason to drive over that box, pile of leaves, snow bank, etc, DON'T!!!! If you THINK about a kid running out into the street from that blind corner, etc, you will likely be ready when it really does happen. My heart goes out to the entire family.

I used to play in leaves, with my friends, when I was a kid. We could easily bury ourselves in them. Looking back, we're very lucky we never got smushed.

That poor man.

for those of you who think you know what happened you don't. And you could never understand the anguish Jimmy is going through. My husband is his 1st cousin and has been with them through this ordeal. He also saw the leaves as a matter of fact and several children could have been hiding in these leaves. God forbid anything like this ever happens to one of you! He will never forgive himself and will have to live with this forever. This was an ACCIDENT! horrible accident. Do you ever stop to think that the family reads this opinion pole? You should kiss your children every single day and hope and pray nothing I mean nothing like this should every strike anyones family. For those of you not pointing the finger or blame.... God bless you!
