Democrats question what went wrong
THE WASHINGTON TIMES ^ | November 5, 2004 | Charles Hurt and Brian DeBose

As John Kerry basked Wednesday in the final applause of his failed campaign, at a packed gathering in Boston that was nothing short of funereal, supporters shivered in the cold outside and wondered what went wrong.

One distraught man with long hair lofted a sign that read, "Democracy doesn't work!"

A woman wearing pink tennis shoes carried a poster that read, "Time to secede, not concede."

Democrats across the country are assessing the damage of Tuesday's election and trying desperately to figure out how they lost ground in both the House and the Senate, and failed to capture the White House.

"When you feel that the issues are on your side and you don't win, you have to look at what happened," said John McCormally, a spokesman for the Iowa Democratic Party, whose state Mr. Bush appears to have carried -- the first Republican to do so in 20 years.

"I'm convinced that our side is right on the issues," he said. "But maybe we're selling it the wrong way."

Many other Democrats agreed that Democrats didn't flub the issues; they flubbed the marketing.

"This election was not about issues," Democratic strategist Chris Cooper said. "If it were, clearly we would have won."

Matt Farrauto of the New Mexico Democratic Party blamed the loss on deceptive Republicans.

"When it comes to having a moral compass, our values are more in line with the American people," he said. "But it's very difficult to combat the deceptions of the GOP. They don't seem to have any compunction for honesty."

Mr. Farrauto said it was "ironic and disingenuous" to portray Mr. Kerry as weak on defense.

Write Wing Warriors do NOT have it wrong. This is not a matter of marketing or that Kerry didnt carry the left wing message. This is a case of the liberals still do NOT understand that character really does matter.

Boston voter Robyn Miller, who held the sign urging secession, said American democracy needs to be revamped. Her recommended changes include making Election Day a national holiday and abolishing the two-party system. Of the more than 59 million voters who voted for Mr. Bush, she said they're "misinformed." "They are faith-based rather that reality-based," Ms. Miller said. "They're focused too much on sports and possessions rather than the issues."

Good. They still don't get it. I wonder which RAT Senators are up for de-election in 2006 and 2008.

Naw. Dims are masters at lying to themsevles. The Voters are too stupid. It's all about the War. Bush manipulated the voters fears. It will be everyone elses fault but their own. Dims are master rationalizers which is good for us. What they refuse to see, they cannot fix. That's what made Clinton so dangerous. He could see the problem. Clinton's major flaw was he didn't want to fix them, he just wanted to lie about them so voter's would forget about them.

"When it comes to having a moral compass, our values are more in line with the American people," he said

This is the disadvantage of having the media, Hollywood, and TV agreeing with your viewpoint. You start thinking that everybody agrees with that viewpoint.

"They're Atheist Socialists in a Christian Capitalist country."

But it goes far beyond that. I'm an agnostic, and I've never...ever...EVER been offended by ANY politican's expressions of his religious faith; I've never been offended by any of Bush's programs involving faith. Yet all my supposedly church-going Democrat friends get nuts about this.

I think it's because they're Christians in name-only--I think they actually have none of the faith they profess to have.

I think most of that crowd is like that--they think religion is nice and is a community myth they all agree to pretend to believe in.

That's why truly religious people frighten them--because they believe the religious are lunatics for actually believing in something they only PRETEBD to believe in.

In fact, most liberals have a shocking lack of respect for Christians and any non-Eastern religion. They attack religious conviction wholeheartedly. I assume it's because they're all very afraid and a little jealous, because they'd love to have faith (so would I) and they lash out and call those who have the faith they wish they had "morons."

I'm not even gonna start on the socialist thing. I've yet to meet a dem who would even recognize their version of democracy as being the socialism it is.

"This election was not about issues," Democratic strategist Chris Cooper said. "If it were, clearly we would have won."

I heard this same garbage two years ago.

The number one reason why Democrats lost is because they DID get their message out.

You should read the whole article. Ms. Robyn Miller is the quintissential arrogant, ignorant Democrat:

"They are faith-based rather that reality-based," Ms. Miller said. "They're focused too much on sports and possessions rather than the issues."

This is the new Democrat party in a nutshell, tilting at windmills. Ignorance and disassociation. "We don't like the real world so we'll live in our own!"

Since Bill and Hill marched into Washington in 1992 and took over the democratic party, everything has gone downhill for the dims! Even their campaigners Carvill, Lockhart, McCurry, the "Forehead" made it worse for sKerry who chosed to ran as a Nam "hero" and was defeated by John O'Neil and his Swifter brothers!!!
