You had better be cleaner than pure spring water. The left will try to tear you apart. They will lie about you, they will tail you around, they will look at every little tiny aspect of your whole life. If you got a D in algebra, the whole district will know about it. If you have an old girl friend in High School that hates you, and is a democrat, they'll get to her and get her to lie, and some outrageous lies at that. I gave the same advise to our nephew, who is now in college (a junior in political science and a serious conservative). All this will happen while your liberal opponent files for his third divorce, fends off his 4th DUI, and is being charged with embezzlement by his former business partner that was busted for drug smuggling and child porn.

OBTW, your opponent will have the endorsement of your local printed rag that they still call a newspaper.

If you are ready for that, then............GO FOR IT, but make sure your family is strong enough to take it.

By the way, if you choose to, you have my highest admiration.

If I were going to run, one thing I would do is find a current office holder in a neighboring district that had similar views (or at least be GOP) and see if you could spend a few days with him/her at the capital and district office. It would give an idea of what needs to be done and how things work.

Recreational drug use is the problem. So what's wrong with medical pot usage? And why should it be an issue? I don't like the looks of an 80 yr old granma smoking a doobie either, but neither do I want to see her using a suppository and taking a crap on a handicapped toilet. Nobody would ban suppositories and handicapped toilets no matter how offensive they are as viewing material. Morphene is another controlled, highly addictive narcotic but doctors use it all the time. Are you going to campaign against morphene too?

My unsolicited advice, stick to some solid meat and potato political issues and leave medicine prescriptions to the doctors.
