Rudy!
Jeb and Romney
Owens/Santorum
Pawlenty/Santorum
Owens/Giuliani (MAYBE-if Rudy lightens up on his pro-choice and gun-grabbing stances)
Tommy Franks/?
Me?
Rudy, Frist, or Jeb. Start marginalizing RINO's like McCain now.
Mitt Romney is in a prime position to run as a Republican governor of Massachusetts, assuming Rudy won't do it.
Pataki and Giuliani won't sell in the South....
McVain too old and won't sell in the South....
Bill Frist has Senator's disease....
George Allen has been a Governor and this makes him qualified.
Tom Ridge could bring Pennsylvania but too liberal for the South
Jeb has said "No" and it may be too soon for him anyway....
Colorado Gov. looks interesting...
Two of the following four: Owens, Santorum, Frist Sanford.
Can't be a socially liberal Republican after the '04 result. The losers in this election are Rudy (even though he campaigned well for Bush), Pataki and John McCain.
A social conservative will win and my first pick is Rick Santorum. If GW Bush has an unbelieveable 4 years I think Jeb would be a great pick. I know that is a lot of Bush's but his popularity in Florida and his mastery of the Spanish language is big. He is also very conservative and a very likeable person who is good at getting his point across.
And let's not forget about doing all we can to eliminate opportunities for vote fraud at the same time!
Condi Rice
trumps the obvious 'Rat Klintoon...
Pawlenty-Rounds
Pawlenty-Rice
Pawlenty-Sununu
Condi to battle the HildaBeast.....
How about
Rick Santorum for pres with Condi Rice VP
Tom Ridge. He was popular in one of the few remaining Purple states, and a successful governor. Personally, I'd say Santorum would be the ultimate Conservative, but it hasn't been good for Senators when it comes to Presidential runs. However, if it comes down to Hillary for the Dems; let's counter with Rick Santorum...it would be a senator either way. Sorry, not sold on Rudy and his record of gun-control. If we're going to keep expanding, PA is the place. Annex Philly to Jersey, and it's over.
If we try to run a centrist (Guiliani, McCain, etc.) against Hillary, there won't be enough contrast in positions or perceived character of the candidates to make a difference to most people. We won't be able to overcome her name recgonition and the media spin. Sure, we conservative political junkies will know better, but given 2 candidates that the majority of people will perceive to be roughly equal, the Republican base, including evangelicals, won't be energized and won't show up. Hillary will be voted in about the same manner as Bill in '92.
Rudy and Condi may be smart, effective leaders, but they are never going to win a national ticket.
Anne Northrup (R-KY) - VP
George W. Bush.
Since he was selected, not elected, according to liberals far more intelligent than me (plus many in the media), President Bush will be eligible to run for re-election in 2008. ;-)
