Every man's death diminishes me. . .

Some more than others.

Every weasel's death refreshes me.

Some, more than others.

"Naturally, Chirac is at Arafat's bedside. I'm not kidding! I just read that at Haaretz."

Arafat has enough "frequent killer miles" to take Chirac with him to hell.

French doctor says Arafat has no chance of coming out of coma

By Arnon Regular, Haaretz Correspondent, Haaretz Service and agencies

Yasser Arafat was in a coma and in critical condition Thursday in an intensive care ward of a French military hospital, as senior Palestinian Authority officials rushed to Ramallah for emergency meetings of governing bodies formally headed by the stricken leader, Palestinian sources said.

A Trifecta! 1. Bush reelected

2. Daschle defeated

3. Arafat dead

I call it a hat trick. Trifectas are limited to three. Hat tricks leave room for more.

Nah, they're still too close. I prefer a one-way ticket to Paris.

Arafat In Critical Condition
16:58 Nov 04, '04 / 20 Cheshvan 5765

PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat was taken to the emergency ward in the military hospital in France last night, after suffering what reports termed "a general systems collapse." He is now unconscious, according to most reports, for the third time in the past 24 hours, and is in critical condition. He had been in the hospital's hematology ward, to where Israel allowed him to fly last week.

Information regarding Arafat's condition is sparse. His spokesperson in Paris, Leila Shahad, acknowledged that Arafat had taken a turn for the worse. However, Palestinian Authority (PA) official Muhammad Dahlan said that there is "no room for special concern." Arafat's doctors will hold a press conference this afternoon, at 5 PM Israel time (10 AM in New York). The PA leadership is currently convened in Ramallah, awaiting developments.

Arafat’s brother, Fathi Arafat, is hospitalized in Cairo, with what his doctors say is advanced stomach cancer.

Former PA prime minister Abu Mazen, who is currently seen as the leading candidate to replace Arafat as head of the PLO and Palestinian Authority, departed for Paris to visit Arafat today. Upon hearing that he probably would not be able to see Arafat due to his deteriorating health, Abu Mazen turned back.

Background on Yasser Arafat

According to his birth certificate discovered at Cairo University, Arafat was born on August 24, 1929 in Cairo. While Arab sources often maintain that Arafat was born in Jerusalem or Gaza, his authorized biographer, Alan Hart, now admits he was born in Cairo.

Often referred to as the Father of Modern Day Terrorism, Arafat has been directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of Israelis, untold numbers of Arabs and more than 100 U.S. citizens. Two of those US nationalists were diplomats according to an investigative report in Insight (June 18, 2001). The report says that the U.S.government has tape recordings of Arafat from 1973 ordering his terrorists in Sudan to execute a group of hostages which included American diplomats Cleo Noel and George Moore, as well as one Belgian official Guy Eid.

In 1995, Ariel Sharon said, "I don't know anyone other than Arafat who has as much civilian Jewish blood on his hands since the time of the Nazis."

Arafat is also "credited" with turning airplane hijacking into an international terrorist scourge. Over two years ago, after an Israeli plane was almost shot down in Kenya, then-Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned, "Sky-jacking terrorism first began against Israeli targets abroad by Arafat and Fatah in the late 1960's, and it very quickly became an international plague..."

As father of the PLO terrorist movement, Arafat reserved for himself sole signatory rights on the group’s accounts, often using the money for his own personal use. The Forbes Magazine list of the world’s richest people (March, 2003) values Arafat with “at least” $300 million, placing him among the richest in the "Kings, Queens and Despots" category. According to some reports, Arafat controls five times that amount.

Documents found by the IDF during its Operation Defensive Shield campaign in April, 2002 showed that part of the huge budget of the Palestinian Authority - funded to a great extent by countries of the European Union - was diverted by Arafat for terrorism purposes. In one example among many, a letter was found signed by Arafat authorizing the transfer of thousands of dinars to Ahmed Mahmad Iz-A-Din Al-Kassam, a Hamas member who also represented Hizbullah in the PA and was responsible for transferring money for terror attacks and supporting terrorists' families.

According to unnamed sources, Arafat turned down this week a request by his wife, Suha, to write a will granting her his money. Experts surmise that the fact that he refuses to share his signatory privileges, even now, with anyone else, means that the money that was designated to improve the condition of the Arabs of Judea, Samaria and Gaza will either support bankers around the world, go to his relatives, or find its way into the Fatah coffers to continue to fund terrorism.
