Britain's Scotsman reports that Hillary Clinton today was named favorite to win the next U.S. presidential vote in 2008 after George Bush won re-election to the White House.
The wife of former President Bill Clinton was installed at 5-to-1 odds by the betting agency Ladbrokes and 6-to-1 by William Hill to take over from Bush after his second term.
Bush was Ladbrokes' favorite for the whole of the election campaign. It's estimated that some 8 million pounds was spent wagering the U.S. election.
Ladbrokes has Hillary Clinton at 5-1 followed by former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani at 7-1 and Kerry running mate John Edwards at 8-1.
No non red state Dem has been elected since JFK (did he really win), if not since FDR. The Dems will have to realize this by their next election. The heartland is their only hope. Truman, Johnson, Carter and Clinton.
It won't be Hillary.
If Giuliani or Pataki run against Hillary in 2006, she could lose her Senate seat and will be knocked out of the running in 2008.
Thats what I am hoping for. But if Guiliani or Pataki hold off and decide to run for president - she is cocky enough to think that she can beat Guiliani!
I head that Rice might leave. I hope she doesn't.
It's unlikely that Giuliani will go from being a mayor to being a president without winning a statewide office.
Condoleza would be a great VP!
Jeb would be the biggest mistake we could make. This isn't a monarchy. He may be a good guy and all, but it will never happen
I think the republican candidate is a much more interesting question.
I like that line of thought. If I had to bet right now, no way on God's green Earth is Hillary elected President. You want to talk about a fired up "anti-Hillary" base ? All we need to do is find a good candidate (unlike Kerry who was a horrible candidate) and the Pubbie wins BIG.

She really does drip anger and contempt. I don't know that she could even get the nomination. Remember, everyone thought Hillary's poop wouldn't stink because they thought Clinton was such a popular president and that the country wanted More, More!! Baloney. She will carry with her NO positive legacy from the 90's boom years. Far too long ago to be useful, and the bloom is off the Clinton rose anyway. I am not the least bit fearful of this woman.
Man i don't know what I enjoy more, beating up on Liberals or conservative thinking.
hmmm
Nope.
Good. As Dickie Morris once said, Hillary will never win in a country where voting is private.
That would be brilliant of them!
Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney for `08. :)
