Britain's Scotsman reports that Hillary Clinton today was named favorite to win the next U.S. presidential vote in 2008 after George Bush won re-election to the White House.
The wife of former President Bill Clinton was installed at 5-to-1 odds by the betting agency Ladbrokes and 6-to-1 by William Hill to take over from Bush after his second term.
Bush was Ladbrokes' favorite for the whole of the election campaign. It's estimated that some 8 million pounds was spent wagering the U.S. election.
Ladbrokes has Hillary Clinton at 5-1 followed by former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani at 7-1 and Kerry running mate John Edwards at 8-1.
Well she's a Horse after all!
A majority of voters in this country are not going to vote for the Hildabeast.
In fact, she would raise Republican turnout even higher.
They really didn't get the message last night did they? Europeans really don't understand us.
It is going to be JEB. Karl Rove already decided.
With regard to Hillary, after 4 more years of Free Republic "scrutiny", she'll be toast too.
She's supposedly a favorite among the Dems right now and if they can't find anyone by 2008 they will nominate her.
I just don't want to hear about that woman especially today. I know it's coming, but I don't want to hear about her.
If the Dems go for Hillary it will knock out Edwards, Kerry and just be another win for the republicans.
I guess having military experience and being a hero will not matter by then!
NOOO Not Jeb! The people will never elect Jeb. They will feel like it's a Bush Dynasty. Besides Jeb Bush said about a month ago HE WILL NOT run for president in 2008
No JEB - Bush fatigue - too bad
I agree - this day is just too special to even have to hear or read "her" name...
Agreed.
Jeb and Rudy would kick Hillary's sorry butt.
Why would another politically divisive liberal senator with 6 years in the senate and no war record have any better chance?
...and so it begins.
Brace yourself.
To be honest if she decides to run we better get a REAL TOUGH candidate!
Why is a Bush dynasty worse than a Kennedy dynasty ?
The Kennedy family is all over American politics like a bad rash.
Edwards career in politics is over.
