People join the volunteer military for a lot of different reasons, when they leave the military, they are wiser, richer (in more ways than just money) and they are owed a debt by the rest of the country. No one should decry the people in the military, they are heros, and they are ours.

What a totally asinine thing to say. I served in the military and lots of soldiers had education beyond high school. There is also a lot of training you get being in the military. You also get the experience of learning to work with others, serving the communities, mentoring children, and showing courage, determination, and standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.
