I totally agree with you that the Swift Boat Vets were the deciding factor. And please, the next time a sitting GOP president is asked to debate, he should just laugh and tell the media that they can go ahead and declare the Dem the winner without going through the hyped-up media circus that these worthless debates have become. They will NEVER declare the Republican the winner anyway, and it almost cost Bush this election.

7. The Dems put their money on a lazy, arrogant, rich dude who couldn't possibly connect with the average American.

This is important. How many times when they showed the campaign rallies you would see President Bush actually humbled by the adulation and he would go out and meet the people, shake their hands, take pictures, hug them, be near them, wanting to be with them. Kerry, on the other hand, stood on the stage with that fake bow and prayer clasp, blowing kisses, pumping his fists in the air. After awhile it made me sick to look at.

Simple question, simple answer.

As soon as he had the nomination, 'Effin should have picked one thing to say about Bush, and stuck to it:

"President Bush. Great guy. I like him, too. He's trying as hard as he can. But he's not up to the job. Give me a chance. I can do better."

He coulda been a contender!

You used to hear stories of kids who were raised by wolves, and they never really adapted to society. With Kerry, it was far worse. he was raised by the French!

It's hard to say. Kerry's people ran the most incompetent campaign in memory.

Thinking the media could carry their water..
....and obviously not realizing:

THAT CULTURAL VALUES WAS THE BIGGEST ISSUE...something plenty of folks here don't have a clue about either.

Alot of people act on their mother's last words. He didn't.

You said it before me!

He didn't listen to his Momma!

Behind the facade of 'looking and sounding so Presidential' he was a climbing POS, believing his initials JFK could carry him.

For something specific -- the first that comes to mind is Vietnam.

Volunteering for swiftboat duty. He couldn't pick who he got to serve with.

I said at the time that that particular remark and that stupid salute would go down in political history as the dumbest move a candidate ever made.

Well, I was going to post what you wrote but you said it better.

To those that think Rove almost blew it, and the SBVFT rescued them, well, with the press coverage so blatantly biased this election, it's a wonder ANYTHING our side did would lead to victory.

Think about it folks. With all that MSM support; the lies, the distortions, the one-sided reporting, the out-right Saddam/Terrorist support--Iraq is a quagmire lies, the Dems still couldn't win?

SWEET!

I'm going to put a judo move on this thread and say that if Bush and Rove had done their jobs properly, this would have been a blow out of epic proportions. They never really painted Kerry as a liberal (not to the degree that he is). They never went after his Senate record. They never really went after his flip-flopping as they should have.

Kerry made a bunch of mistakes, any one of them potentially fatal, but nothing that stands out in my mind. It really comes down to what could Bush / Rove have done to make sure that Kerry well and truly lost this election, from the get go, demoralized the Democrats for all time, and had huge coat-tails. I'm not denigrating their victory, just saying it should have been bigger. After all, they were running against a Senator more liberal than Ted Kennedy, and this country really hates liberals, despite what the boys and girls at DU think.

Bush ran a crappy campaign too. Kerry was as warm as an iceberg. Bush got evangelicals to turn out in record numbers, but he could have put Kerry away with a strong challenge earlier.

Not personally fighting back against the Swiftys and Bush's Alabama National Guard vs Kerrys Vietnam service. Of course he didn't want what he did after Vietnam to come out but he should have known that it would. Oneil would never let him go on that.
Also Kerrys puppet masters are a bunch of kumbaya anti-war appeaseniks that would not allow him to sound to "aggressive".

Thank God the President won Reelection, it was a huge defeat for the homo-agenda and a first step with 55 senators to roll back the Holocaust against our unborn.
