I'm afraid she's not. I have a friend who was also obliged to eat what was served at a high-level dinner. It wasn't just monkey brains: the monkey was alive and restrained when they cut the top of its head off and served it. Truly abysmal that such practices persist for the sake of ceremony or whatever passes for decorum. Stun it, bleed it, cut it and broil it. Then I'll eat it.

One other thing. There are many mad-cow like diseases that are passed through brain or nervous system tissue. I'll never knowingly touch the stuff.

I would make a terrible diplomat. I would never "go along" to be polite or because I was obliged to eat/do something. Just couldn't do it.

OFF TOPIC: My oldest son came home from the orient telling of the monkey restraint device and the sale of snakes at markets. Enough to make one swear off food for a while.
