I've heard rumors that tonights 60 minutes broadcast with Michael Scheuer, author of "Imperial Hubris", will contain an event trigger (keyword, phrase, or image) for an attack.
Has anyone else out here heard anything about this???
I am thinking that the rumors were posted by either Scheuer or the PR arm of cbs to get viewership up real, real high tonight! It is possible.
On the "60 Minutes" rumor: That has the smell of urban legend to it, along the lines of the person being murdered in the next studio when "Roller Coaster" was being recorded. I say that because it has so many of the necessary elements: 60M has already been saddled with controversy because of its younger sibling; it's really gassy to think that a former agent would unwittingly trigger an attack, and I believe a great many people have some kind of fear or perverse interest in surrounding the notion that our own media would be used against us.
Without a credible source I have a hard time believing that the Pigs already know what Scheur is going to say, unless they were present when the segment was taped. Even tougher if it's a live segment.
Where did you hear that?
no but I do know something else was to be revealed on CBS, again, can't remember what it is
They will supposedly discuss a new fatwa (religious authorization) that was issued recently. That is reportedly the "go" signal, not anything specific to the program itself.
We went around in circles this summer about the first nuclear fatwa. Despite all the links that have been posted on this thread, I have yet to see the text of the original nuclear fatwa that was issued in early 1998. I saw it a couple times right after 9/11. Not since.
Al Qaeda's nuclear capability is not just an old story, it is a very old story. We will only know the first time they succeed. We will never know how many times they have failed.
