ARTICLE SNIPPET: "MAYODAN -- A Stokes County man was shot by a Mayodan police officer who had followed the man from a robbery scene Friday morning.

Officer Tony Ashburn, 25, was on his way home at 5:48 a.m. after ending his shift, when he noticed a man carrying a rifle run out of Huff's Texaco at 1002 West Main St. and get into a car, police said."
