The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Obama must have read my post last week.

Pak nukes will be destroyed if Musharraf is ousted: US leader :

Washington, Sept 28 : Pakistan's nuclear arsenal will be destroyed if any move is made in that country to oust President Pervez Musharraf, a candidate for the US Senate has claimed.

The Dawn quoted Barack Obama as telling the Chicago Tribune that Washington would in all probability launch military strikes in Pakistan to destroy that country's nuclear arsenal if Musharraf lost power.

He further went on to say that the Bush Administration is concerned about the possibility of Islamic militants assuming power in case Musharraf was overthrown. (ANI)

"Skype plugs hole in VoIP software"

Published: November 15, 2004, 2:58 PM PST

By Robert Lemos
Staff Writer, CNET News.com

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Peer-to-peer phone company Skype has updated its Internet telephony software, patching a critical flaw in its client for Microsoft Windows-based systems.

The vulnerability could allow attackers to take control of a Skype user's PC after the victim clicks on a specially created URL, security information provider Secunia said Monday. By including a long string of characters in the link, the attacker could trigger a memory error known as a buffer overflow that could then be exploited to run a program.

"Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code," Secunia said. It has ranked the flaw as "highly critical"--its second-highest rating.

Skype acknowledged the security hole in its release notes for the update."

Hamas Accuses Israel of Poisoning Arafat

Sunday, November 14 2004 @ 03:42 AM EST

"Two Israeli intelligence agents were arrested in Jordan after trying to poison the Hamas politburo leader.."

BEIRUT - Hamas leader Khaled Mashal accused Israel of poisoning Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.

"I accuse Israel of having poisoned the blood of Abu Ammar (Arafat)," Mashaal told Aljazeera news channel, Thursday, November 11, commenting on the official announcement of Arafat’s death.

"Seven years ago, when I was the victim of a similar poisoning operation, the doctors were unable to find any proof in my blood. But at the time, Israel was forced to hand over the antidote because we were holding two Mossad agents," he said.

Two Israeli intelligence agents were arrested in Jordan in 1997 after trying to poison the Hamas politburo leader.

The Israeli government then provided antidote and released a number of Hamas members held in Israeli jails in return for freeing its arrested agents.

Palestinian sources had said that Arafat was slowly yet fatally poisoned before being taken to a French hospital.

Ashraf Al-Kurdi, Arafat’s long-time doctor, had earlier said that poisoning could be the reason behind the disorder of the blood platelets of the Palestinian leader.

Israel had repeatedly threatened to kill Arafat, who escaped 13 assassination attempts, including three poisoning attempts, according to the Palestinian sources.

Israeli Industry Minister Ehud Olmert said on September 14, that Killing Arafat is an option.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon threatened the same day to expel Arafat from the occupied Palestinian territories.

Mashaal accused Israeli of killing stone dead all hopes of peace by killing the veteran Palestinian leader.

"Israel killed Yasser Arafat... By killing Arafat today, Israel has killed the peace process. It has killed the one who created with it this process," he said.

"This is perhaps a message to the Palestinians and Arabs to tell them that this will be the fate of whoever refuses Israeli imposed solutions," Mashaal said.

Hamas vowed to continue resistance against the Israeli occupation till liberating the occupied Palestinian lands.

"The death of the great leader would enhance our determination to continue struggle and resistance against the Zionist enemy till achieving victory and liberation," said a Hamas statement.

"Al Qaida warning: U.S. has infiltrated our 'holy warriors' (Turnabout Fair Play)"
WORLD TRIBUNE.COM ^ | Sunday, September 28, 2003 | Not Provided

Posted on 10/03/2003 12:50:12 PM PDT by .cnI redruM

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "LONDON — Al Qaida has warned its agents that they have been infiltrated by the United States.

An Al Qaida spokesman said the infiltration had been conducted by the United States in cooperation with unspecified Arab intelligence services.

"We warn of attempts to infiltrate the holy warriors in Iraq," the Al Qaida spokesman said. "There is a need to kill spies and make them an example for punishment after their presence and activities have been demonstrated."

The statement came in wake of the capture of several Al Qaida agents in the Sunni Triangle and Mosul area of Iraq, Middle East Newsline reported. The arrests have pointed to links between Al Qaida and loyalists of deposed President Saddam Hussein.

The statement was relayed by the London-based Center for Islamic Research and Studies.

This was the first time Al Qaida has acknowledged that its forces have been penetrated by Western agencies. Until now, Western intelligence analysts said the United States and its allies have failed to infiltrate the middle and senior ranks of the Islamic movement."

Something about this man just doesn't sit well with me.

Blair warns UK still faces terrorist threat

BILL JACOBS
WESTMINSTER EDITOR

TONY BLAIR will tonight play the security card and warn that Britain and the west still face a clear and immediate terrorist threat.

And in a major speech in the city of London he will defend his controversial close relationship with American President George Bush.

He will say that the trans-Atlantic alliance is vital to protecting Europe and spreading democracy across the world.

In his annual Mansion House speech the Prime Minister will pick up on weekend comments by Home Secretary David Blunkett who warned that Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaida terror network are "on our doorstep and threatening our lives". Mr Blair will say this threat requires a robust response from government and strong leadership.

snip

He accepted that his alliance with President Bush over Iraq had split world opinion but said critics including France were not "facing up to the reality" of terrorism.

Mr Blair said: "What sometimes people in Europe find hard to understand is that the American world view changed on September 11.

"When these people killed 3000 totally innocent people in an unprovoked slaughter in the streets of New York, if the world doesn’t wake up to that and say ‘what’s going on here, something different is going on’ it’s simply not facing up to reality."

I agree it could be that his father and grandfather were Muslims before they died.

I wonder how he knew so much on his 1st week at work.

If I read the post correctly, the statement was made Sept. 28. He had not even been elected at that point.

Nothing like a 4.5 hour meeting to cut into my freeping time.

Hunting was great, but didn't see anything worth shooting. (Actually, I got lazy and didn't feel like dealing with gutting, skinning, de-boning, butchering). Still, it was a good day in the woods. Saw 10 deer, 2 fox, ~ 18 turkey, and about a zillion squirrels.

I've lowered by personal alert level from SEVERE to HIGH. I'm pleasantly surprised we've not been hit yet.

Still, take no chances. ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. IMO, we still have sleeper cells operating in the US. The tanker is still missing, along with the Mexican crop duster and a whole bunch of propane.

A couple years ago I saw turkeys looking like they were having a heavy discussion under the trees alongside the highway. They seemed so oblivious to the traffic going by and it was in the early afternoon.
