The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

I'm a little rusty, but:

The Mujahadeen of Fallujah have taken prisoner 36 American soldiers and 101 collaborating dogs of the Iraqi National Guard.

This information has been confirmed by "moufakarat.." and has also been announced by al-jazeera by the inermediary of a member of the mujahadeen corps by telephone contact. Among the American soldiers are counted 10 female soldiers. The mujahadeen have filmed the prisoners and have given the video to the the al-jazeera and al arabiya networkds, but the two networks have refused to broadcast the images for fear of american reprisals. But God willing the truth will be made clear as always. (arabic follows)

The guy is delusional. The FBI itself estimates 3-5000 here as sleepers and more are pouring into the country each day. We are in trouble if people buy what he is selling.

Vel, I wouldn't know that at all. You may have been following them longer! That is not why I bumped your post.

I bumped your post because I agree with you that the IH / Castle posters should be watched since they are interesting characters.

Also, I really dig it that you recognize IH, as IH sometimes gets disparaged here by people who do not know what the site was in the beginning and what it is now. Some of these people have never even registered to see what is going on in alneda and they have no understanding of it yet they espouse their wrong judgements anyway. :)

If you'll remember, judicial meanz, HipShot and myself had a conversation on this a few threads ago. I used US Border Patrol stats from the last ten years to show the potential for up to over 70,000 terrorists inside our country right now. Of course, not all of those will be "trigger pullers" some will be for intel and logistics, too.

Timing is everything, here. I have no idea how many of these preplanned operations will have been interdicted by our Intel and LEO guys. Other plans could have been disrupted by the heat. The extent to which contingency plans have been made in case of these types of ops by our guys is unknown. The Jihadis could have Plans A, B, C and D all lined up, or they may have no fallback plan beyond a I'm on my own mindset. That would be a good thing on the one hand in that the B-I-G bodycount plans may be off the table, but a B-A-D thing in trying to stop events on a smaller albeit still violent level.

And what are the odds they really had a telephone conversation transmitted from Fallujah after we blasted the communications?

That is a very disturbing post in more ways than one.

Then on the other hand, if we are helping to seed mistrust amongst them and causing them to strike out at each other then that is a very good thing, indeed.

I do that too and it's scary. I just realized that since I do a fair amount of purchasing stuff online, that a lot of those sites may not be secure. So I guess I'm OUT there! Wouldn't take any sort of a hacker to get all the info on me. I stand by my post regarding the Front Sight! Finding out who I am is probably pretty easy. Taking me out is going to be another proposition, altogether.

US says Californian may be in al Qaeda threat video

WASHINGTON, Nov 9 (Reuters) - U.S. intelligence officials are confident, but not certain, the English-speaking man who threatened new al Qaeda attacks in a videotape obtained by ABC News is a missing Californian named Adam Gadahn, ABC reported reported on Tuesday.

After weeks of technical analysis, officials have concluded with a high degree of confidence that the speaker identified on the videotape as "Assam the America" is Gadahn, who left California for Pakistan six years ago, ABC reported.

The CIA referred calls to the FBI. An FBI spokesman said he had no information on the reported identification.

ABC obtained the videotape in Pakistan last month and broadcast it on Oct. 28. In the portions of the tape shown, the speaker, whose face was cloaked, said he is a follower of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. The speaker vowed new attacks worse than those of Sept. 11, 2001.

Officials concluded the speaker was Gadahn after examining the tape, speaking to his family, and showing the tape to captured al Qaeda operatives, ABC reported.

U.S. officials said there is still no legal certainty that the person in the videotape is Gadahn, but his parents have reluctantly agreed it is likely their son, ABC reported.

Gadahn, now 26, converted to Islam at age 17 and attended a mosque in Orange County, California, according to ABC. The director of the mosque told the network he also recognized the voice on the tape as Adam Gadahn's and reported it to the FBI.

In May, FBI Director Robert Mueller named Gadahn as one of seven people being sought in connection with possible terrorist threats in the United States. He said Gadahn was associated with al Qaeda leader Abu Zubaydah in Pakistan.

Gadahn's parents said they last heard from him in a telephone call from Karachi a few months after the Sept. 11 attacks, ABC reported.

Gadahn, born Adam Pearlman and raised in Riverside County, California, is the son of a 1960s psychedelic musician who changed the family name, ABC said.
