Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!

Congratulations President Bush!!

It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!

And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!

I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).

The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.

So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?

If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.

Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!

By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!

PayPal and credit card order requests will be accepted through Jan 14. Payments by check or money order must be received in Fresno by Jan 5. The above cutoffs assume we have not sold out by then. Tickets will be available at the door for $200 each (cash or CC only) assuming we have not sold out.

Hope to see you there!

Woo hoo!! We're getting real close to the point of wrapping up the contract details and making final arrangements. Watch for our announcement and press release very soon. Hope to be able to start selling tickets within the next few days. It's going to be a fantastic ball!

I had a thought about a secondary theme for the Ball.
For military persons (past and present): wear your medals proudly! (a counterpoint to Kerry) and would give good conversation points. Just a thought.

Jim,

I see that there are provisions for children 12 and under. In this case, I'll need a ticket in this category as well as the 2 adult tickets I previously indicated I would like to reserve.

Kind thanks.

Kindly place me on the list for 1/2 individuals. Would also be interested in sharing a hotel room.

Great! See you there!

To all on this thread:

We were hoping to be able to begin selling tickets by now, but did not get the contract wrapped up. Sorry about that. Maybe tomorrow.

We'll post an announcement in the sidebar and run a new thread as soon as we get ready to go.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
