Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!
Congratulations President Bush!!
It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!
And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!
I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).
The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.
So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?
If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.
Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!
By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!
BTTT. I need to discuss this with the Mrs.
I worked for Burr's campaign here in NC and I may also be invited to his shindig in Jan.
OK Details, Details, Details...Put me down for 2...
Let's invite the Swifties and pay for their tickets!!!!!
I'm there with at least 3! Please make sure Zell and the SBV are invited as the guests of honor!
"Wass, party of six; Wass, party of six."
Steve & I are in
ping
Sure you can bring your 6 year old. Husband too. Hope to see you there.
Jim
How do you contact your local. When they post it comes up on my screen but I don't know how to contact my Michigan chapter, or whatever it's called.
I've got a meeting with the hotel tomorrow afternoon. FReepers please let us know ASAP if you want to attend so we can plan accordingly.
I'd like to see the Swift Boat Veterans as guests of honor!
Please count me in! I wanna go... I wanna go!
Hey Dio, BobJ - Who is running/leading/working the Michigan Chapter? Anyone know?
Double plus WoooHooo - please count us in for 2!
2 here from West By God Virginia!
Now just supposing you'd been a member of FreeRepublic for going on four years now. And have posted handsomely and wisely for lo those many years. Yet have never been part of any of the quasi-organized groups on this site.
Which is not because you weren't invited but more because your life in the pajamahadeen is more a solitary and pensive one. Thus the various 'lounges' and 'parlors' and 'ping lists' went on without you as this wasn't your thing. Clicking and viewing the headlines, perusing the threads of interest, posting your own wise missives, THIS was your thing with FreeRepublic.
So here you are, this mythical Freeper who might even be a Blogger in your own right, pondering this inaugural ball and thinking....'yeah, I'd like to go to that'.
Problem is, you don't know anybody. Not a single soul in that chummy personal way such as sites like this generate. Never Freeped anyone. Rarely send Freepmail to anyone, never actual email.
Now suppose you were this sort of Freeper? How could you possibly go without tables of ten tagging along? Walking into the festivities knowing not one hand will wave wildly to greet you. A fine and cherished citizen of FreeRepublic as originally envisioned, but not especially well known on the site, not at all on a personal level. While these might have been free choices, wouldn't you wonder what it would be like to join in on the party?
And be deathly afraid to accept the invitation?
LOL I hope Jenna is wearing a full sleeved dress this time?
Thanks Jim........You've given this nation a great forum to fight the socialism and sedition that is upon our beloved republic.
I salute you Sir......:o)
Now where can I get Snoopy Dancin lessons for the Freeper Ball ?
I don't !!.........:o)
