Why don't we skip inaugural balls this year? Don't get me wrong I love Bush and have voted for him 4 times (Gov. twice), but my Marine son is going to Iraq and we are skipping Christmas presents in order to purchase some additional body armor for him in addition to what the Marines will issue.
I wish President Bush would announce that he will forego the inauguration parties this year and earmark the money instead for the troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.
God Bless President Bush!

The first Free Republic Inaugural Ball was awesome. The members of the DC Chapter worked very hard under incredible time pressure to make it happen. FReeper Ball II will be a must attend event.
Last time Lazamataz and I collaberated on a FLASH video that we showed in the ballroom, and made it to the FReeper DVD that was sold. If you have the talent for creating celebratory videos please contact me by Freepmail.

"See you at the inauguration, Drudge." Said by Kerry flunky to Matt Drudge when Drudge inquired about Kerry breaking debate rules by bringing a pen (or something).

I'd love for us to go! Will this be a formal ball? (Because if it is, we can't bring our 6 year old, so we can't go :( )
That would be a nice b-day present for me from my husband. (teehee)

Maybe there could be some local or regional FR stuff for those who can't go to DC? I would recommend contacting your local FR Chapter about the possibility of a "Balls Across America"...
