Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!
Congratulations President Bush!!
It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!
And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!
I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).
The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.
So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?
If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.
Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!
By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!
WOW, I wish I could afford to come, cause I would in a heart beat, but doesn't look like that will happen. BOOHOO!!
Yes. There's a pay parking garage under the hotel. It should be able to accommodate some, but not all as overnight guests park there. There's a unaffiliated pay lot across the street. And there's street parking (no meter fees as Inauguration Day is a holiday in D.C.
Yes. We're making arrangements with the hotel for a childrens' room/menu at a reduced rate from the adult price. It will be located on the same floor as the Ball.
Thanks, Kristinn, for the info.
I am planning to attend with 3 others. Looking forward to it.
President Bush's crushing victory over his foes was all the cure I needed.
Now every time I hear them speak I just smile to myself. (cuz I know their secret)
New Mexico man will be in DC for the ball, just one ticket, please.
Freepertoo would like to attend and bring one guest. Two tickets, please!
Ok 2 for me
quick question....is this black tie?
I WILL be there! Put me down for attendance. I can't wait.
Some will be in formal wear, some will be in business attire or business casual and some will be wearing cowboy boots and hats.
OK. Thanks. I'm in New Jersey, I'll bring the dunce cap with me.
Bruce Springsteen is going to let you borrow his?
Steven Van Zandt's brother was a friend of mine. Many years ago I co signed a loan for his first car purchase. Today he could buy and sell me. Lives In LA....today. I wish him the best...tho I suspect we might be on opposite sides of the political spectrum.
It was an interesting mindset back then. I changed...others didn't.
I can't wait.
We loved the 2001 Ball........2005 will be even better!!!!
Ok...where do I send the money...I'll need two.
But I have to tell you -- from everything I've seen, if there's any kind of way that I would get to DC, there's only one ball that I'd have any desire of going to, and that's the FR ball.
No matter -- I'll get to meet plenty of folks in good order.
Thanks!
I need to amend above. It's about time I met some of the rest of us.
