Bush now ahead in Florida 57-42%. Bush now has an 80,000+ vote lead in Florida with 6% counted.

I know, I know. The Rat precincts get counted later in the night. But I don't believe Bush was ahead by this much at any stage during the 2000 campaign.

After scanning the results in the other states, I'm breathing much easier now. Bush is winning the states he should be winning and appears poised to take some states back that went Gore in 2000. This means he can afford to lose New Hampshire (Kerry's backyard).

Bush led by over 100,000 votes in 2000 before the Miami-Dade votes came in. I remember watching those numbers as his lead kept going down, down, down, until it finally got near 0 and then finally, mercifully, stopped moving.

Bush's number was over 60%, but a large number of precincts in Orange County (Orlando) just reported and dropped it to the current 57%. Very good, Orlando went heavily Dem in 2000.

Especially when you consider that Bush won by 500 and something votes in 2000. So, we can assume Bush is doing better than 2000, right?

Maybe I will not have to stay up all night after all. Cautiously optimistic.
