No one saw fit to give us our own thread, despite there being a number of crucial issues on our ballot this year.
DIXIE Ping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard on the radio earlier that 1000 people were at the Madison courthouse this morning - I'll have to wait til I get off work to vote tonight. Where in AL are you located? What do you consider to be crucial on the ballot?
Each state is responsible for themselves. That means you have to start your own thread.
I work in Huntsville. I had to come into work early today because of a meeting. I won't be able to vote till this evening.
lol I noticed alabama's ommission...have you all seceded? ;)
You mean like this one?
Roll-Tide
Go Bush
No handouts!
Exactly. LOL! Nice job.
That's why I exercised a little Southron initiative.
My polling place (I vote at the same place as Jerimah Denton), was swamped. I spoke with one of the voting officials (I've known her 35 years), she said we had set a turn-out record by about 10:30 this morning. This is a strong Republican precinct...I predict a big win for GWB!
Mobile, Alabama, turnout is HEAVY pouring rain this morning and folks were in long lines with their umbrellas waiting to get into the building to get into the REAL line!!
The election official that I talked too said it is the heaviest turnout she's seen in over 20yrs
I voted this morning in Tuscaloosa, and the turnout was a lot LIGHTER than I expected..seemed less than 2000. But I live in one of those gerrymandered centepede shaped districts that Artur Davis represents...so maybe that is actually GOOD news!
I met my mother, daughter and husband at our polling place and voted around 11:00. For the first time ever, we had to wait in an incredible line. Between the four of us we probably knew 90% of the folks there - all Bush/Cheney supporters. We were pleasantly surprised that an ID was required and I anticipate our county will go 70-30 for President Bush.

And you done good. What are the interesting initiatives on the ballot?
