Put info and links about Nebraska here.
Where are the Hawaii and Guam threads? (g)

Just finished blacking in my choices here in Lincoln. Poll workers were excited about turnout, said they are way ahead of prior years.
Go W!
No fraud, no angst, just a lot of republicans. Nebraska, the Good Life. :o)
I work for the Douglas-Omaha Technology Commission (DOT.Comm...don't ask. Someone's idea of a joke), and we're the computer operators that help in Douglas County (Omaha for the uninformed).
I used to do the website until this election, so I'm free to talk about how things work in Omaha, but since I'm not at the election office today, I can't relay any stories.
When I went in early last week for early/absentee voting, there were maybe 20 people in the office voting early.
We have one major non-partisan issue on the ballot - expanded gambling, which is also adding to the vote turnout. The only countywide contested race is Register of Deeds.
now if we can just get rid of hagel.
We'll have Hagel for a while yet.
I agree; we're always being represented by Nebraskans who go elsewhere, adopt different values than those with which they were born and raised, and then come back, posing as "real" Nebraskans. Neither Wall Street nor Hollywood values play well here, but dadgumit, we elect "Nebraskans" who forget their roots.
While I expect NE to go heavily for Bush, there is additional EXCITING news about Nebraska - pheasant and quail seasons open Saturday! Woo-hoo!
Of course if Kerry wins, we hunters feel we won't be allowed to hunt any more. The liberals will definitely take that right from us as soon as they can. It might not be in the next 2 years but they will try to take that right from us. Count on it!
My personal mission. He is shameful.
No kidding! Hagel has been a supreme disappointment to me and he's in bed with Bob Kerrey. He can go back east and stay there.
nelson is way better than chuckie. sometimes the political labels can be misleading.
I went to vote in a sparsely-populated county (Stanton County; in the northeastern portion of the state) this morning promptly at 8:00, figuring I could beat the crowds.
Ooops, I was wrong.
There was a long line.....but because the ballot this year is so short, and because surely Stanton County will go 80% (dream on, rest of the country) for Bush, there was no more than a couple of minutes of waiting, and presto! one was given a booth.
This being a small place, identification is not needed because everybody knows everybody else, but I hope to God they are checking identifications in Omaha and Lincoln.
I heard on KFAB news that calls were being made into North O, Florence to be exact, telling people to vote at different, incorrect, precincts.
Went at 11:00 in Morrill Co. Lady said I was #184 and they already had as many as they usually have all day. First time voting here so I don't know how it leans. Only 2 yard signs in town for Bush and mine was 1 of them. No signs for K. I think it looks good for Bush here anyway.
Nebraska will go huge to Bush. Nancy Thompson is so far out of the race that many expected her to just concede last week. Fortenberry and Connealy could be closer but Nebraska won't put a dem from that district in. Heard the same thing about the voter calls to Florence-interesting because this state isn't in play. Probably a Thompson backer.
Right in and right out, no line and it took a total of about five minutes. I don't think the casinos are going to win.
I heard Connealy's own family members held a rally last week-a rally against him! I swear I am not making it up.
