I had a cat named Mingus once. A scrawny little cross-eyed stray chocolate point siamese that we took in and fell in love with.

Apropos of nothing, but I just never heard of another cat named Mingus.

Named after a town in Texas, rather than the jazz guy who taught his cat to use an actual toilet and wrote a book about it. A very witty FReeper once saw a picture of Mingus licking her butt and said her name should be "Lingus".
