Not that I'd know what constitutes a "hunky conservative male writer", mind you...

... not that there's anything wrong with that if you do. ;)

I voted in Ohio! I made sure #4 was punched out on my ballot AND that there were no hanging chads. Then, the stupid thing (on my part) was: I didn't note whether the poll worker dropped my ballot in the box. Here the poll workers do that.

By the time I got done standing up to cast my ballot, I was a bit dizzy and my priority at that point was to sit down for awhile.

I was semi-disenfranchised prior to that, however.

Our polling place is in a mini-indoor mall. You enter and walk down a long passage to a T-crossing. The person directing people to their precinct sent me to the right, "all the way to the end of the hall, last table on the right." The person at that table then told me that I should have gone to my left instead ... to the last table there on the right. She then said, "They've been sending the wrong people down here ALL MORNING!" After I sat down to recover for a bit, she said, "Maybe I should go find out what's going on." (I behaved. Despite what I was thinking ... like: YOU THINK!? IF THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 5 1/2 HOURS, IT MIGHT BE ABOUT TIME TO CONSIDER SOME SORT OF ACTION! I smiled and said, "Yeah. That's probably a good idea." ... She was a nice little old lady, but it was embarrassing because she offered to get somebody to help me walk to the other end of the hall. I declined. I was on crutches on Sunday because of these stupid muscles, but I did okay on my own today.)

I know I'm rambling, but I'll now define "okay." LOL ... My office chair broke and after several days of trying to shim it and using pillows to try to adjust how I could sit in the durn thing without sliding out of it, I finally mustered up the strength to lift the chair up and carry it out of here. ... That involved lifting it up and over some two-drawer filing cabinets and boxes. Once that was done, I was able to roll it outta the room. ... I tried using a folding metal chair, but that didn't cut it. I'm now resting my fanny on an antique oak straightback chair and this isn't working either. So, I've now run out of chair choices, short of getting a cushy rocking chair that I can't lift into here. Thank goodness I don't have a writing deadline today! (I do have lots of stuff I should be writing, but the election was "probably" going to interfere with any writing anyhow.)

That's really not fair...you now have - probably - half a dozen of us feeling guilty that we can't come over and fix your seat...chair...situation!

Shall I call Sean on his show and ask if he can help you to a nice comfy chair??
