A TO THE POINT HEADS-UP
I had a conversation with Bill Middendorf earlier today. Bill was the Secretary of the Navy from April 1974 to January 1978. I got to know Bill well when he was Ronald Reagan\'s Ambassador to the OAS and we worked together on support for the Contras.
Bill has agreed to publicly state that to the best of his knowledge and recollection, John Kerry was dishonorably discharged from the military and fought to have this reversed while he (Bill)was SECNAV, which Bill of course refused to do. When Carter became president, Kerry secured the honorable discharge from Bill\'s successor.
The OTH (Other Than Honorable)discharge story has been out for a while, but for a former Secretary of the Navy to confirm it is major news. WorldNetDaily will be headlining it, as should the Washington Times tomorrow, and possibly Drudge. For some reason, Drudge, whom Jerry Corsi (coauthor of Unfit for Command) just talked to a few minutes! ago, is resisting. I also gave the story to Neal Cavuto at Fox.
I thought all TTPers should get a heads-up on this.

What does President Bush being honest have to do with pardoning Kerry's lies?
MArk Levin just reported taht SECNAV just verified this posting

I believe that the people who bothered to check on the Swift Vets ads after they started being played already know that Kerry is a SLUG. I believe that people who can be affected already know enough to vote for Bush if they have a brain at all.
A "dishonorable" Discharge or an "Other than Honorable" discharge will just confirm wht they already know.

ROTFL :) Hanoi Boy, tomorrow will be a looooonnnnngggg night for traitors.
"Middendorf will be in violation of the Privacy Act if he publicly states that Kerry was given a Dishonorable."
Totally agree. The NAVSEC would put himself in a bad spot, he has no right to disclose what JFK's discharge is. It is private info between the department of the Navy and JFK.
And as most have indicated. To little to late. It would be stupid to put pressure on Middendorf at this point. Why should he be asked to do something that is dis-honorable?
It is not fair. We should embrace ethics and fair play and convince our children we play fair and by the books regardless of the circumstances, and show them the stark difference between the left and the right. Two wrongs don't make a right. Right?
"I feel that President Bush being the honest man he is will pardon Kerry for his lies and dishonor to our country."
After Kerry is found guilty of treason and subjected to psychiatric tests?
"possibly won't help this election, but at least Kerry will be known for what he really is, a traitor the rest of his pathetic life................."
Just think what he'll do as President (IF he's elected) to squash this story. Scary.
Mark Levin should know better that this is a bad thing to do.
The race is too close. We can't take a chance of doing something wrong here. Are we forever to be known as The Stupid Party?
no.
i did not say anything you said.
i said what i said.
The other thread was pulled.....
He was pardoned by Carter.
cripes.
this is the second stupidest election ever....
Yes -- the other thread was pulled. The news that the ex-SecNav had verified the charge was false.
"The other thread was pulled."
I was reading the 'other thread' when it happened. Reason given. Double Post.
Tell your husband that THIS President, if he knew, would not have chosen to make this a campaign issue. He is an honorable man (to a fault, for the dirty work of campaigning) and if it was his call, he would NOT have chosen to expose and destroy Senator Kerry over a 20 year old military discharge- which was, after the fact. upgraded.
I feel terrible that former NavSec Middendorf sees fit to come forward to corroborate this ON ELECTION EVE. He does not have my respect or trust due to his procrastination.
Reason given was "false"
IF it is true, let it out now or tomorrow or there after...never let the lying dog off the hook. If nothing else he should be out of any public office. Prefer he be destroyed, that will be the only justice for our courageous Vets.
