The News Begins to turn

Posted on 10/30/2004 10:34:12 PM PDT by Vortexsg

I noticed tonight that MSNBC aired a program today on the bush's and kerry. Believe it or not they showed the bush's in a fair light and kerry in a more negative light. In reading posts here and website of newpapers like the New york times the negative kerry papers are beginning to come out. Most interesting of all the Saturday Night Live(A very liberal show) slammed kerry versus a little of "poking" fun agianst Bush. In there actions I wonder if they are showing what they are expecting to happen thanks to the great Bin Laden tape which to me almost seem like he was scripted and didn't want to say what he said. Perhaps because his network has been destroyed or if you believe liberal bs it was the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy" to tape Bin laden doing that when he's been captured for some time. Like I said bs but would be funny. I think modays polls are going to be breakaway for bush as well as the stock market. I may be wrong but I don't think so. Yet we must remeber there are two full days to do some politican so god only knows if there are any suprises left. As for me I thikn the media is beginning to show what is coming. A BUSH VICTORY. .

Estrich helped Dukakis go down to defeat in 1988 by running such an inept campaign against the first President Bush. Every time I see this gal and Robert Schrum the only word that comes to my mind is LOSER!!! Have you all noticed that Kerry's advisers Paul Begalla and James Carville haven't been all that prominent in the campaign? I see them on the cable shows, but not as often as when they were part of the Clinton team. Maybe it's a sign that the Democratic establishment has already thrown in the towel for Kerry, and getting itself in gear for Hillary in 2008.

Will C-Span cover the election on Tuesday Night? I wonder if that would be a good channel to watch? Any thoughts?

First of all that "woman" does not know anything.
I am so sick of hearing old cliches.
"Oh the independents break for the challenger".
"High turn out is bad for Republicans"
BLAH BLAH BLAH
I do not agree with either one of those statements.

The republicans GOTV is a well oiled machine.

my only fear is rampant voter fraud on the left. my solace - the GOP learned in 2000 that the dems will do anything ANYTHING to win and I think they may actuallly be both ready and willing to fight back their attempts to steal the election.....

Go GWB!

I know what you mean. President Bush is not perfect, but he is a good man and loves this nation and its people. Kerry is NOT a good man, and loves the United Nations, communism, and himself.

Also saw a great picture of kerry after he heard about the tape and looked like he sh*t his pants.

You mean like "The nuisance is back!"

showed Bush in a fair light

The LM? You're hoping the dinosaur survives the meteor, or the flood, or volcano, or whatever it was.

They don't deserve your sympathy. And you certainly aren't going to find validation from the LM.

didn't see the special but it was hilarious Matthews/Hardball and Scarborough on Friday all said, Osama tape, advantage Bush

I think even Fineman or was it Mort Kondracke, said this election comes down to one issue, are you a Septemember 10th, 2001 person or a September 12th, 2001 person

and SNL was also hilarious.......

Hammond does such a classic Clinton and the Osama spoof tape, I couldn't believe it, he was so funny

slamming DNC voter fraud
slamming Michael Moore
slamming Theresa Heinz Kerry

I couldn't believe it

I fyou go back and read FrontPageMag.Com in February when Rick Kaplan took over and MSNBC you'll find an interesting prediction in there:

http://frontpagemag.com/Articles/Printable.asp?ID=12234

If Hillary Clinton wants this year’s Democratic nominee to lose so that the White House will be open for her to run in 2008, then her friend and vassal Rick Kaplan will use MSNBC to help defeat John F. Kerry or whomever else becomes the Democratic 2004 presidential candidate. His personal loyalty to the Clintons seems even stronger than his ideological love of the Left.

If this comes to pass, then Joe Scarborough will likely remain on the air until the day following the November election, when a loyalist of the Hillary 2008 campaign will replace him. That’s trickle-down politics. That’s Rick “Capo” Kaplan, reportedly the new boss of a now-dying private network that once held much promise, MSNBC. We may soon be changing the nickname on its gravestone to Marxist-Socialist-NBC.

It was Matt Lauers version of Biography weekend show... the one they used to have on every evening on MSNBC. I watched Bush (for the 100th time) and turned off Kerry (for the 1000th time)

Caught Russert on CNBC with Dorris Kerns Goodwin and someone else...

It looks to me like Shrum and company are back in charge and a lot of the Clintonistas have been jetesoned or pushed aside. Wish he'd dump Lockhart!

slamming Theresa Heinz Kerry
I couldn't believe it

Me neither. MADtv maybe, but, not SNL.

The Osama character delivering his taped message said :

" I will probably get in trouble for saying this, but, I cannot stand Teresa Heinz Kerry. She is just awful. Just awful."
" And although our religion forbids us to strike a woman, although I admit I do it all the time and I know I shouldn't-
But, if she were my wife, as Allah is my witness, I would not stop beating her."

And the audience roared.

The time for propaganda polls has ended. The last polls released by various pollsters will be compared to the acutual election results. The MSM are trying to cut their losses. They can't afford for their last polls to be far from the actual results on Tuesday evening.

to understand the enemy you must unfortunatly watch the enemy to see how desperate there spin it plus I wanted to see the bush/kerry specials and was suprised to see them show bush a great son, leader and father much like his father and show kerry in all the bad things he did like actually talking about him meeting with the enemy in france about vietnam.

This is long … sounds like a fairy tale -- but it happened just a few hours ago, and you might find it worth the read.

Tonight we had a dinner party at a friend's apartment in our complex. My wife, myself, our friend who invited us (she’s recently widowed, hubby was WWII vet), another gentleman who is an electrician, a lady-friend who is a nurse, and her acquaintance whom we found out, is a Democrat. (I should point out the rest of us are Republicans solidly behind W. Bill, the electrician, whom we knew was stopping by our local Republican HQ, also brought along some BC04 bumper stickers, small stickers, and small yard signs for us (extra ones for us LOL) and a few of his friends.

At the pre-dinner wine and getting-to-know-you time, MSNBC was on showing the program you are referring to. During the Kerry section, due to my visceral dislike of the individual, I was neither shy nor restrained in my denunciations of that charlatan. The nurse’s friend began to take umbrage at my pronouncements and we got into a rather heated discussion concerning you-know-who. Our hostess was busy between the kitchen, and us but she chimed in from time to time.

Due to a well-cued visual “hint” from my dearest, I decided to sit down, sip the wine, and let a few of the others calm things down a bit. Our dinnertime, which should have been about 6-ish, got delayed to about 8PM. During this time a very informative discussion was had with the Democrat lady (I’ll call her Sue).

I had my opportunity to lay out, generally, my past in the protest movement of the late 60s and early 70s. How I was against the war but eventually, when the “group” I was with decided to lambaste the returning military, that that was the time I drew the line and changed my radical thinking as to what was behind all those protest movements – and I found out things I did not believe in or condone. (so much for my being a sheep). What killed it for me was the impetus Kerry and his clan put behind calling our valiant warriors baby killers, rapists, etc ( you know the routine by now). Also, tossing urine, cr@p, and other things at returning Vets was reprehensible to me. Also his involvement in Paris, his record in the Senate, his kow towing to the N. Vietnamese, etc. I spoke of family friends of my Mother's whose son was a POW and how she told me about his recounting (when he would talk a bit about it) as to how Fonda's, Kerry's and "that damn bunch of turncoat so-called veterans and protesters (my Mom's words)" were used against POWs. Next …

The nurse chimed in about all of the Kerry health care “plans” and such. She gave a good background of “Hillary Care” and where we would wind up with socialized medicine.

The Electrician was great in his assessments of all the loony “societal” plans the left is famous for foisting on us; from “political correctness” to government handouts, and keeping the poor oppressed so that the “Party” would keep their relevance. [I should mention that a few of us are voratious readers of FR! Good education here. Also, we brought up references to the Swifties and gave her links to here and there.]

We all had a very calm discussion (finally) leading to dinner. Things calmed down and issues were discussed in a very rational manner.

Long ‘n short. Not much was said during dinner. Following dinner, we were to watch some Halloween movie on some cable channel, but wound up in a continuation of the pre-dinner political conversation.

Sue’s cell went off, and it was time to pick up her teens from some party they were at. She had to call them back because our discussion lasted another 40, or so, minutes. THEN she excused herself, repaired to the kitchen, and made a couple more phone calls. (We found out about a couple of these later).

Time for Sue to go. Seeing I was close to the door, I opened it for her. She said goodbye to the others, and then by the door, she apologized for the rabid diatribe she leveled at me and W at the beginning of our discussion. I apologized also because I explained that I am usually quite level headed – but it was just seeing those scenes of medal tossing, Senate testifying, yadda yadda, that really got my blood boiling.

She left, I closed the door, and repaired to the table to add a splash to my glass and prepared to watch some drivel about gargoyles.

There was a knock on the door. We looked at each other … wondering … I opened the door, and there was Sue. She came in just inside the door and asked, apologetically, if she could have a couple of the BC04 tags and bumper stickers. Well of course! (I guess the first thing through our minds was the un-voiced idea that she was going to deface them in some way and put them up to be seen as a protest). OH WE OF LITTLE FATE! She mentioned that she made some calls earlier to her hubby, who was just now leaving work, to pick up the kids – because she had some people she just HAD to speak with tonight. She implied it was going to be a VERY long night for her.

Being curious souls, we repaired to the room overlooking the parking lot, and watched Sue clean a spot on her rear bumper and placed one bumper sticker there OVER HER KERRY/EDWARDS ONE!, and the other one at the bottom of her rear window. Then she went on her way …

So before all y’all’s get too heavy on that program tonight – it just brought in another vote for W in our little circle.

On a personal note: I wish all discussions would end like this -- perhaps this was our own little miracle for this election cycle. We are all still "up" about this experience.

{{pardon for grammatical and spelling errors ... a little high here and wanted to get the stuff posted. Hope you look beyond that to the reason I posted it.}}

But you saw Eminem on there didn't you. He did his new Anti-Bush song and urged everyone to vote. The good thing about that is that he is more alienating than convincing. But I suspect a great number of know-nothings under 30 were moved by his performance.

I missed the anti-Kerry skit, what was it about?
